Job description

Overview:

Join SSOE’s dynamic IT team in Mumbai as a Security Administrator II, where you’ll play a critical role in managing organization’s IT security infrastructure, implementing policies and tools to protect against threats, unauthorized access, and data breaches. This position requires advanced technical expertise, ownership of core systems, and a proactive approach to security and innovation.

Responsibilities:

The following duties are typical of the position, but are not all encompassing. Responsibilities include those required to deliver quality service on schedule and within budget in a team environment.

  • Implement, administer, and continuously improve enterprise security technologies and controls aligned with frameworks such as National Institute of Standards and Technology (NIST) and Center for Internet Security (CIS) to reduce organizational risk and strengthen overall security posture.
  • Administer, configure, and monitor Microsoft security platforms including Microsoft Defender XDR, Microsoft Defender for Cloud, Microsoft Sentinel, and Microsoft Entra ID security capabilities.
  • Perform day-to-day security operations including alert triage, investigation, containment, and incident response using enterprise detection and response tools.
  • Maintain security telemetry and logging pipelines, including monitoring Microsoft Sentinel log ingestion health and ensuring critical data sources are properly onboarded and providing adequate security visibility.
  • Administer endpoint security controls using Microsoft Defender for Endpoint, including device onboarding, security policy management, compliance monitoring, and Threat & Vulnerability Management activities.
  • Support identity and access security initiatives including deployment and maintenance of modern strong authentication and conditional access solutions.
  • Assist with security assessments and reviews of infrastructure, applications, SaaS platforms, and cloud services, including participation in third-party penetration testing and supporting remediation efforts.
  • Implement and maintain secure configuration baselines and system hardening standards across enterprise platforms to reduce exposure to vulnerabilities and misconfigurations.
  • Support the protection of organizational data by monitoring for data exfiltration risks, unauthorized data access, and policy violations across collaboration platforms, cloud services, and endpoints.
  • Support the secure adoption of AI-enabled technologies by assisting with the implementation of controls that protect AI workloads.
  • Collaborate with Infrastructure, DevOps, and application teams to integrate security controls into operational processes and ensure consistent security practices across platforms.
  • Stay current on evolving cyber threats, Microsoft security capabilities, and industry best practices, recommending improvements to strengthen the organization’s security capabilities.
  • Work with security leadership and business stakeholders to help translate operational security findings into actionable improvements in controls, processes, and technologies.

Note:

This position is a permanent full-time remote role for US shifts, specifically from 6:00 PM to 3:00 AM IST.

Qualifications:

What will you bring?

  • Associate’s or bachelor’s degree in information technology, Cybersecurity, or a related discipline work experience in security operations.
  • Minimum 8 years of experience administering and securing environments using Microsoft security technologies.
  • Advanced expertise in Active Directory and Microsoft Entra ID, including Conditional Access, Privileged Identity Management (PIM), and identity governance controls.
  • Proven experience securing Microsoft Azure workloads using Microsoft-native security services and best practices.
  • Deep understanding of identity and authentication protocols such as SSO, MFA, OAuth 2.0, and SAML, implemented within Microsoft platforms.
  • Advanced proficiency in PowerShell, Azure CLI, or other scripting tools to automate security configurations, monitoring, and response activities.
  • Experience responding to security incidents, performing investigation and forensics, and implementing corrective and preventive security actions.
  • Highly self-motivated and directed, with keen attention to detail.
  • Leadership capabilities for mentoring junior team members and leading projects.
