Job description

At Local Crafts, we’re the creative force behind some of the most beloved names in crafting. From our own workshops to trusted partners around the globe, we design and curate products makers reach for every day: the fabrics, threads, yarns, and tools that turn ideas into finished pieces.

Our People Operations team is looking for an HR Generalist who knows how to show up equally well on a warehouse floor and in a corporate hallway. This role is the connective tissue between our people and the programs, policies, and support they need to do their best work. If you’re someone who takes the human part of Human Resources seriously, this one’s for you.

What You'll Do:

  • Serve as a first point of contact for employees across corporate and warehouse teams, answering questions on HR policies, benefits, leaves, and anything People Ops related
  • Support the full employee lifecycle, from onboarding new hires to navigating job changes and offboarding
  • Maintain accurate employee records in the HRIS and keep data clean and current
  • Partner with managers on employee relations matters, performance conversations, and documentation
  • Help administer benefits programs and coordinate open enrollment
  • Support culture and engagement efforts that make Local Crafts a place people are proud to work
  • Ensure compliance with federal, state, and local employment laws, with an eye toward safety standards in our production environment
  • Assist with recruiting coordination as needed, particularly for warehouse and hourly roles

What You'll Bring:

  • 5+ years of HR Generalist experience, with demonstrated ability to support both corporate and hourly or distributed workforces
  • A solid working knowledge of employment law, compliance requirements, and HR best practices
  • Strong written and verbal communication skills — you can explain a leave policy to a warehouse supervisor and write a formal memo with equal ease
  • A detail-oriented approach to work; you catch the small things before they become big problems
  • Comfort working in a hybrid model, including regular weekly visits to our Fort Worth production facility
  • Experience supporting hourly and frontline workers, with an understanding of what that environment actually demands
  • Bilingual in English and Spanish, enabling you to connect with and support team members across our warehouse and production teams
  • Hands-on experience with ADP, preferred

You'll Thrive Here If:

  • You’re focused on outcomes, not just checking boxes — you care whether the work actually moved something forward
  • You’re constantly looking for ways to do things better or more efficiently, and you don’t just flag the idea; you help get it done
  • You’re a bit of a data nerd who uses numbers to tell the story, not just to fill a slide
  • You take ownership of your work and follow through without needing to be chased — we value people who act like owners
  • You’re comfortable with some ambiguity and can figure out what the right answer is even when the playbook doesn’t cover it

Additional Information:

This is a hybrid role based in Fort Worth, TX, reporting directly to the Director of People. You’ll work from home with weekly visits to our warehouse and production facility.

  • Comprehensive benefits including medical, dental, and vision coverage; 401(k) with company match; paid time off; and parental leave
  • Employee discounts across all Local Crafts brands — Connecting Threads, Superior Threads, Knit Picks, Crochet.com, and Berroco
  • Must be legally authorized to work in the United States; Local Crafts is unable to sponsor employment visas for this position
  • This role requires the ability to walk and stand on the production facility floor for extended periods and lift up to 25 lbs
