Requirements:

  • Identify strategic opportunities with broker partners (succession planning gaps, merger or acquisition potential, business planning, digital readiness, and portfolio transfers) and drive sales and marketing activities to grow broker portfolios with Aviva.
  • Act as the single point of contact for broker partners, coordinating internal and external resources and providing creative solutions to their business challenges to strengthen partnerships.
  • Profitability and performance management through disciplined broker/portfolio management, ongoing performance tracking (business mix, new business support, LR and retention trends) and analytics to identify trends.
  • Drive business development using Salesforce and other tools, develop plans aligned with Aviva’s territorial and line-of-business objectives, and identify strategic opportunities via portfolio transfers and acquisition targets.

The Opportunity 

We are currently looking for a Broker Relationship Manager for the GTA region whose primary purpose in this role is to drive all aspects of the business relationship (a comprehensive business consultant), helping a broker grow beyond just their relationship with Aviva. With a focus on profitable growth, strategic business opportunities and partnership, marketing campaigns, etc., for all lines of business, including Personal Lines (group, specialty and retail,) Commercial Lines, GCS, and all Aviva brands (Aviva Group, Aviva Ovation, etc.), ensuring brokers are receiving the support they need to deliver on their business.

What you'll do:

  • Identify strategic opportunities with broker partners, including succession planning gaps, merger or acquisition potential, business planning, digital readiness and portfolio transfers

  • Drive sales and marketing activities by aligning to the business plan, help brokers to grow their portfolios with Aviva

  • Identify and drive new business pipeline opportunities to support in growing the broker’s portfolio with Aviva

  • Develop solutions and find answers for their brokers by understanding their individual needs and providing expertise on how they can grow their business with Aviva.

  • Act as the single point of contact for a broker partner, coordinating and orchestrating internal and external resources as vital

  • Provide brokers with creative solutions to their business challenges, strengthening our partnerships

  • Profit management through disciplined broker / portfolio management

  • Give brokers insights into their portfolios to help them manage their business (and ours)

  • Ongoing performance management, including monitoring mix of business, new business support, LR and retention trends, and other key success indicators

  • Use analytics to identify trends, mix of business problems, LR issues, etc.

  • Drive rehab processes where applicable

  • Business planning and execution through the development of plans with brokers that align with Aviva’s territorial and line of business objectives

  • Identifying strategic opportunities via portfolio transfers that add profitable volume to a broker’s book of business and identifying acquisition targets as well as consolidators

  • Succession planning activities to fill any gaps

  • Relationship management through building and strengthening relationships with principals, mid-managers, key producers and frontline staff

  • Leverage Salesforce and other business development tools to drive business development excellence within broker distribution

What you'll bring:

  • University – undergraduate degree or equivalent experience

  • CIP designation

  • 8-10 years of related experience in the insurance industry

  • Experience in Commercial Lines is an asset

  • Portfolio management and marketing experience

  • Strong analytical and decision-making capabilities

  • Relationship management skills

  • Customer and results focused

  • Strong networking capabilities

  • Very strong business management (business plans, marketing plans, metrics, understands business drivers) capabilities

  • Sophisticated negotiation skills

  • Strategic problem solver

  • Excellent oral and written communication skills

What you’ll get:

  • The salary band for this position ranges from $100,000 to $130,000. Please note that individual salary is determined by factors such as job-related knowledge, skills and experience, as well as internal equity.
