Requirements:

  • Supervise the Logistics department procedures and staffing, and coordinate with internal departments to optimize operational flow.
  • Assist Logistics Manager to improve loading/unloading turnaround times and maintain Receiving, Supply, Shipping, and Inventory accuracy in Amtech; coordinate with customers and external logistics teams for high service levels.
  • Execute and supervise all receiving and shipment transactions in customer systems, create shipments, process shipments, and print required shipping paperwork in customer systems and retailer TMS systems.
  • Maintain and audit Shipping, Receiving, and Supply records; track quantitative indicators and KPI metrics; schedule inbound/outbound dock appointments and manage dock sheets; assist with on-time delivery and quarterly physical inventories.

Job description

Hood Container Corporation is seeking a detail-oriented and skilled Logistics Lead to join our Packaging Solutions plant in Rural Hall, NC. This role is critical to ensuring accurate inventory control, efficient material flow, and support for production and warehouse operations.

Must be willing to work overtime as needed.

Reports directly to the Logistics Manager

Key Responsibilities

FUNCTIONAL RESPONSIBILITIES:

 Supervise the Logistical department’s procedures and develop staffing.

  1. Work closely with all internal departments to maintain open communications and facilitate optimal operational flow.
  2. Assist Logistics Manager with optimal loading/unloading turnaround times.
  3. Assist Logistics Manager with maintaining Receiving, Supply, Shipping, and Inventory accuracy in Amtech.
  4. Communicate with customers and all outside logistics teams to ensure a proper information flow and a high level of customer service.
  5. Execute and/or supervise all receiving and shipment transactional requirement within customer systems.
  6. Create shipments, process shipments, and print all shipping paperwork required in customer systems and retailer TMS systems.
  7. Maintain and audit retained Shipping, Receiving, and Supply records.
  8. Systematically track and obtain quantitative indicators to update both customer and internal daily, weekly, and monthly KPI trackers.
  9. Schedule/Coordinate all inbound/outbound dock appointments daily and maintain all dock sheets on shared drives.
  10. Post shipments throughout the day within all customers systems.
  11. Assist with maintaining customer due date report in Amtech daily.
  12. Assist Logistics Manager with maintaining 100% on time delivery.
  13. Assist Logistics Manager and Inventory Control with coordinating and administration during quarterly physical inventories.
  14. Perform all tasks and other duties as assigned by supervisor.

 

REQUIRED QUALIFICATIONS:

 

  1. Ability to supervise and lead employees.
  2. Strong interpersonal communication and listening skills
  3. Excellent analytical skills and independent decision-making.
  4. Ability to interact effectively, with professionalism and courtesy, with customers and at all levels of the company.
  5. Strong computer skills with proficiency in Microsoft Office.
  6. Ability to multi-task and work well under deadlines.
  7. Two or four year college degree preferred.
  8. One to three years of relatable experience required.
  9. SAP and TMS experience preferred.
  10. Ability to work overtime as needed to support customer and/or production demand.
  11. Be capable of working remotely when needed and / or at any 014 offsite locations.
  12. Must maintain an exceptional level of attendance and punctuality.
