  • Participate in DevOps practices, contribute to CI/CD pipelines, perform regression testing, and help improve testing processes within an agile framework.

Position Summary

Altera is seeking a passionate and detail-oriented Associate Quality Engineer to join our innovative team. In this full-time role, you will play a crucial part in ensuring the quality and reliability of our health IT solutions through meticulous manual testing, WebAPI validation, and active participation in our agile DevOps processes. The ideal candidate will be an enthusiastic learner with a foundational understanding of software testing principles, eager to contribute to a high-impact environment.

Key Responsibilities

  • Execute comprehensive manual test cases for web and desktop applications to identify defects and ensure functionality.

  • Perform WebAPI testing, validating endpoints, request/response structures, and data integrity using appropriate tools.

  • Collaborate closely with development and product teams to understand requirements and contribute to test strategy.

  • Document, track, and prioritize defects, working with developers to ensure timely resolution and retesting.

  • Participate in the team's DevOps practices, understanding CI/CD pipelines and contributing to a culture of continuous quality.

  • Conduct thorough regression testing to ensure new features do not negatively impact existing functionalities.

  • Contribute to the improvement of testing processes, tools, and methodologies within an agile framework.

  • Learn and adapt to new technologies and testing techniques relevant to Altera's product suite.

Role Requirements

  • Total Years of Experience: 0-2 years in software quality assurance or a related field.

  • Relevant Years of Experience: 0-2 years directly involved in manual and/or API testing.

Mandatory Skills:

  • Strong foundational understanding of Manual Testing principles, methodologies, and defect lifecycle.

  • Experience with or strong understanding of WebAPI testing concepts and tools (e.g., Postman, SoapUI, Swagger).

  • Familiarity with software development lifecycle (SDLC) and agile methodologies.

  • Basic understanding of DevOps concepts and continuous integration/continuous delivery (CI/CD) pipelines.

  • Excellent analytical, problem-solving, and critical thinking skills.

  • Strong verbal and written communication skills, with the ability to articulate technical issues clearly.

  • Ability to work independently and collaboratively in a remote team environment.

Preferred Skills (Good to Have):

  • Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Engineering, or a related technical field.

  • Experience with test management tools (e.g., Jira, Azure DevOps, TestRail).

  • Basic knowledge of scripting languages (e.g., Python, JavaScript) for potential automation tasks.

  • Understanding of database concepts and SQL for data validation.

  • Exposure to performance or security testing concepts.

  • Experience in the healthcare IT domain.
