About the Opportunity
We are a fast-growing global brand working with major UK and US wholesale partners including NEXT, John Lewis & Partners, Marks & Spencer, and Nordstrom. We are looking for an experienced Digital Sales Operations Lead on a contractor basis to own and optimise the sales systems, data processes, and operational workflows that underpin our wholesale and digital trading performance. This is a senior operational role that blends strong technical capability with commercial acumen. You will play a critical part in scaling our wholesale partnerships globally, ensuring our key accounts are supported through accurate data management, efficient order processing, and trading optimisation.
Please note: This role is open to South Africa-based candidates only. This is a contractor position so the successful candidate will be responsible for their own tax and statutory obligations under South African law.
Key Responsibilities
Strategic & Operational Leadership
● Own the end-to-end wholesale sales operations function across digital and key accounts
● Partner with the Interim Head of Wholesale to develop and deliver operational strategies aligned with business growth priorities
● Manage and coach a South Africa-based Sales Operations Support contractor, ensuring effective day-to-day collaboration and task delegation
● Act as systems owner for all sales and order management tools, maintaining data accuracy, reporting integrity, and process efficiency
Systems, Data & Reporting
● Own, maintain, and optimise systems supporting wholesale operations including order management, customer databases, and product information platforms
● Ensure seamless product data setup and digital asset management across all wholesale partners
● Develop and maintain sales performance reporting, providing clear data visibility to the wider business
● Collaborate with Tech, Finance, and Operations teams to troubleshoot, implement, and monitor sales systems including Shopify, Mirakl, and DSCO
Trading & Account Support
● Support wholesale trading relationships by ensuring timely and accurate setup of products, orders, and assets across partner systems
● Liaise directly with digital retail partner teams to resolve data, logistics, or process issues promptly
● Support the preparation and execution of seasonal sales assets including line lists and design decks
Cross-functional Collaboration
● Build strong working relationships across Product, Merchandising, Logistics, Finance, and Brand teams to ensure alignment on trading activities and data flow
● Serve as the operational link across wholesale processes, ensuring clear communication and accountability
Continuous Improvement
● Identify and implement opportunities to automate and streamline wholesale operations, particularly through offshore support
● Champion best practices in system use, reporting, and workflow design
● Support digital transformation initiatives within the commercial function
Requirements
What We're Looking For
Experience & Qualifications
● Proven experience in a wholesale or sales operations role within retail, fashion, or consumer goods
● Strong understanding of digital wholesale models and B2B trading platforms
● Demonstrable experience managing or implementing sales systems and processes, particularly DSCO, Mirakl, and/or Shopify
● Direct exposure to trading with major UK retail partners such as NEXT, M&S, and JLP
● Experience managing or coordinating offshore or remote teams (nice to have)
Skills
● Highly proficient in data management, analysis, and reporting using Excel and/or Google Sheets
● Confident influencing cross-functional teams and external partners
● Exceptional attention to detail with the ability to manage multiple priorities simultaneously
