Roles & Responsibilities

  • Bachelor's degree in business, marketing or science (nutrition background asset).
  • 1–3 years of experience in sales.
  • Strong presentation skills with the ability to rapidly develop relationships with healthcare professionals (GPs, RNs, RDs).
  • Experience with MS Office and Salesforce.com; able to work autonomously; valid driver's license; willing to travel (up to 25%).

Requirements:

  • Detail and sample adult and pediatric Abbott Nutrition products to community-based healthcare professionals (GPs, RNs, RDs) and ensure customers are stocked with samples and materials.
  • Maintain real-time records of sampling and selling activities in SFDC, including pre/post call entries and updating key HCP lists.
  • Prepare and manage territory business plan; analyze KPI dashboards and territory progress to determine next steps; present territory reviews to the Regional Sales Manager (RSM).
  • Optimize call coverage and inventory: manage locker, inventory of samples and promo materials, reconcile inventory, and ensure accurate SFDC updates (calendar, accounts, contacts).

The Opportunity

The Nutrition Sales Specialist Primary Care Representative is field based in Kitchener, Ontario and covers London to Brampton. Our nutrition business develops science-based nutrition products for people of all ages, from helping babies and children grow, to keeping adult bodies strong and active. The Nutrition Sales Representative Primary Care (NSR-PC) is responsible for creating demand for Abbott products and will be considered a strong team player despite working autonomously most of the time. Under the supervision and coaching of the RSM, the NSR-PC will be responsible for sampling & detailing adult and pediatric products to community-based HCPs (GP’s, RN’s, RD’s).

What You’ll Do

  • Play a key role in ensuring customers are well-stocked with Abbott Nutrition samples and materials and that the customers understand how to use them. 

  • Maintain records of sampling and selling activities in real time (use of salesforce.com, pre-post call entries, maintenance of key HCP list, etc.).

  • Prepare his/her territory business plan and ensures proper analysis of territory KPI’s while effectively using dashboards to analyze progress and determine next steps.

  • Ability to sell to health care professionals.

  • Details both adult and pediatric product lines to community-based HCP (GP, RN and RD).

  • Optimizes usage of samples & materials to drive recommendation and trial.  

  • Optimizes call coverage with geopoint and enters all calls details in SFDC in real time.

  • Monitors activities and trends in the field.

  • Keeps SFDC up to date (calendar, accounts, contacts).      

  • Analyses pre-post calls to set up objectives with accounts/contacts.  

  • Analyses KPI’s to ensure that all territory trends are accounted for.

  • Updates territory business plan (budgets, plan of actions for key customers, key list assessment vs call average and results analysis, etc.)           

  • Prepares and presents territory business review to RSM.       

  • Keeps the locker in order and manages inventory of samples and promo material.

  • Prepares and presents coverage plan to RSM.              

  • Executes locker inventory reconciliation.      

Required Qualifications

  • Bachelor's degree required in business, marketing or science - background in nutrition an asset.

  • 1 to 3 years of experience in sales.

  • Strong presentation skills.

  • Aptitude for quickly developing relationships and gaining access to customers.

  • Experience using basic computer software like MS Office (Word, Excel, PowerPoint) as well as Outlook and Salesforce.com.

  • Adaptable from a scheduling perspective and has the ability to work autonomously.

  • Strong territory management skills.

  • Maintenance of a valid driver’s license at all times.

  • Must be able to lift, carry and manage car stock and sample delivery to customers.

  • Available for overnight trips, depending on territory could represent up to 10% travel.

  • Mobility and desire to progress within the sales force organization as opportunities arise.
