Senior Information Technology Engineer

We are looking for a Senior IT Engineer to lead the design and implementation of enterprise-scale applications and automation systems that enable secure, efficient operations for a hypergrowth organization. Drive strategic IT initiatives, mentor technical team members, and architect integrated solutions that enhance user experience and efficiency.

Your Mission

As part of the Engine team, you'll play a vital role in an environment where innovation meets collaboration. Here's what you'll take charge of:

• Architect and Optimize Cloud Ecosystems: Design and implement sophisticated, scalable IT ecosystems that seamlessly integrate with core business platforms while maintaining robust performance, security, and compliance. Oversee the integration of enterprise systems, evaluate and implement new tools, and manage key vendor relationships to ensure optimal service delivery.
• Drive Strategic IT Automation and Process Optimization & Governance: Design and build automation from the ground up. Spearhead the development of advanced automation frameworks using Okta Workflows and other tools with scalability and supportability as first principles. If a human is doing it manually more than once, you'll make it automatic.
• Identity & Security: You'll be Engine's Okta expert, architecting and maintaining our identity infrastructure, managing SSO integrations, enforcing access policies, and ensuring the right people have the right access at the right time. Serve as a trusted partner to our security team contributing to audits, access reviews, endpoint health, and incident response. You understand the intersection of productivity and protection and help us optimize for both.
• Project Management & Execution: You take ownership of your work and bring others along with you while leading high impact strategic projects. You'll manage your own project load with rigor, keeping stakeholders informed, blockers surfaced, and velocity high through clear organization and transparent communication. You make IT work feel like engineering, not firefighting.
• Mentorship & Technical Leadership: Provide technical leadership and guidance to IT engineers and support staff, fostering a culture of continuous learning and operational excellence.
• AI & Emerging Technology: You actively explore how AI can augment IT operations through intelligent alerting, automated resolution flows, and smarter employee experiences. You stay up to date on new technologies and are always looking to improve yourself and the systems and processes you own.

What You’ll Bring to Engine:
We’re looking for someone who’s ready to make an impact and grow alongside us:

• Experience: You have 7-10+ years in IT, including leading complex, company-wide projects and managing projects and collaborating in a remote, distributed environment.
• Skilled Problem Solver: You're a problem-solver with a knack for identifying issues before they become problems. You excel at system integration, cloud services, and security protocols.
• Detail Oriented & Highly Organized: You have a strong eye for detail in everything you do, from documentation and design to testing and execution. Organization is a way of life for you and can manage multiple workstreams with ease.
• Tech Stack Wizard: You're a pro with Okta, Device Management systems like Iru and Microsoft Intune, Google Workspace, the Atlassian suite, among other tools. Certifications supporting real life experience preferred.
• Strong Technical Leader: You're a proactive self-starter who enjoys sharing knowledge and leveling up your team. You thrive on driving initiatives with minimal oversight and are an excellent communicator, able to explain complex systems to anyone.
