Summary

As IBM WebSphere Application Server Developer at Gainwell, this position will be responsible for supporting the SOA Integration team by developing and maintaining enterprise Web Services and integration solutions. The Senior SOA Developer will work extensively with IBM ACE (App Connect Enterprise) and/or IBM WebSphere Application Server (WAS), along with IBM MQ and Oracle, to deliver reliable and scalable integration services.This role is strictly involved in the development of the product and does not involve access to Protected Health Information (PHI) & Personally Identifiable Information (PII) or any secured/confidential client data. The work is limited to application development and does not include handling or processing of sensitive health information. 

Your role in our mission

Required Skills:

  • Strong expertise in Web Service Development (SOAP and REST), including understanding of SOA patterns and standards.
  • Hands‑on experience with IBM ACE (App Connect Enterprise) and/or IBM WebSphere Application Server (WAS); both preferred.
  • Experience working with IBM MQ for enterprise messaging and asynchronous communication.
  • Proficiency in XML, XSD, JSON, and transformation techniques (XPath, XSLT).
  • Experience designing and implementing service contracts (WSDL, schemas).
  • Strong understanding of integration and orchestration flows within SOA environments.
  • Experience with Oracle SQL and PL/SQL for backend integration.
  • Ability to develop and troubleshoot high‑performance integration components.
  • Working knowledge of Java/J2EE for service logic and extension development.
  • Experience consuming and integrating SOAP and REST services into applications.
  • Proficiency with source code repositories such as GitHub, GitLab, SVN, or similar.
  • Experience addressing performance, reliability, and scalability issues in integration services.
  • Ability to write technical documentation, design specifications, and deployment guides.
  • Experience with unit testing frameworks and applying testing principles in development.

What we're looking for

Having at least 5–8 years of experience and also have a solid understanding of Web Service Development principles, including service design, messaging, and working with structured data formats such as XML and JSON. Prior experience in IBM technologies is strongly preferred. Java/JEE developers will be considered, but must be willing to train and adapt to IBM integration technologies.

This position requires someone who is self‑motivated, takes ownership of deliverables, and drives tasks to completion. The candidate must be able to thrive in a team environment, possess excellent communication skills, and demonstrate exceptional problem‑solving capabilities.
