This is a full-time role reporting to the Head of Product. You will play a key role in shaping and delivering ENGIN, contributing across the full product lifecycle: from discovery, to work breakdown and requirements writing, release, and iteration.
This is an early role in our product organization with opportunities for growth. This is a hands-on and delivery-focused role, working with engineering to translate customer outcomes into sprint-ready work: user stories, acceptance criteria, and prioritized backlog. The company is in a contract-driven growth phase, and you’ll quickly move upwards in the product development lifecycle.
Only applicants based in Canada with authorization to work in Canada will be considered.
The ideal candidate will have:
- Bachelor degree in a technical field (or equivalent technical background)
- 6+ years of experience as a Product Owner or Product Manager working on B2B SaaS products
- Strong ability to communicate requirements clearly and work effectively with engineering teams
- Demonstrated ability to ramp up quickly in unfamiliar domains and become an effective product owner
- Track record of successfully delivering products to market
- Solid understanding of Agile methodologies and practices
- Self-starter with the ability to work independently and as part of a team; comfortable navigating complex systems and taking ownership of a wide range of responsibilities
- Modern tool fluency: you use AI to accelerate requirements, prototype ideas, and explore edge cases
It would be great if you also have:
- Familiarity with electrical engineering concepts and terminology, particularly in power generation or energy systems
- Experience with regulated domains (e.g., utilities, infrastructure, asset management) where edge cases matter.
- Background in software development (professional or personal projects)
- Experience managing big data or analytics platforms
- Familiarity with cloud platforms and modern data architectures
- Experience designing and delivering AI-first or data-driven features
As a Senior Product Owner you will:
Participate in the development cycle:
- Understand customer requirements, and work with development teams to break them down into releasable increments (epics, user stories, acceptance criteria)
- Write requirements and tickets for new development initiatives, communicate priorities and make clear trade-offs
- Develop lightweight prototypes/mockups (often AI-assisted) to clarify workflows, de-risk scope, and accelerate alignment
- Work with UI/UX design to ensure intuitive, user-centered product experience
- Maintain a sprint-ready backlog and lead refinement to keep 1-2 sprints ahead
Shape and contribute to product strategy:
- Own delivery execution for product initiatives, ensuring successful delivery of customer commitments, milestones, and alignment with company strategy and market needs
- Work with sales, marketing, and our customers to understand needs of the product
- Conduct market research to understand competitive landscape
- Define and track key product metrics (usage, adoption, performance) to guide decision-making
- Prioritize product features according to established and business relevant metrics
