TC27 - Lead Backend Engineer at Rockcruit

We are looking for a Lead Back-End Engineer to architect the data layer and infrastructure for complex web applications. This role requires a "Full-Stack" perspective—while you lead the back-end, you understand the UI's needs. You will be the primary architect implementations, ETL processes, and API orchestrations.

Responsibilities

• Architecture & Strategy: Conduct technical audits and define the "Software Bill of Materials," hosting architecture, and development strategy.
• Lead CMS replatforming and migrations, defining complex content models and executing ETL strategies.
• API & Services: Design and maintain robust REST and GraphQL services to power modern web front-ends.
• Infrastructure & DevOps: Collaborate with DevOps to manage CI/CD pipelines, environments, and hosting services (Vercel, AWS, etc.).
• Backend Leadership: Serve as the technical owner for the server-side, ensuring scalability, security, and high-performance data delivery.

Must have

• Back-End Mastery: Extensive experience with Node.js (Express, Hapi), Deno, or Bun, and a strong foundation in TypeScript.
• Data & CMS: Expert-level knowledge of Sanity.io and experience with other composable platforms (Contentful, Contentstack).
• Full-Stack Fluency: Deep understanding of how back-end architecture impacts React/Next.js front-ends.
• Testing & Security: Experience implementing automation, load/performance testing, and security best practices.
• Communication: Ability to explain complex backend architecture to stakeholders with varying levels of technical fluency.
