Roles & Responsibilities

Experience performing plan checks for building codes and evaluating plans, calculations, and specifications.
Knowledge of current adopted ordinances, laws, and state building codes (IBC, IRC) and local amendments.
Ability to work remotely and communicate effectively with clients across California, Arizona, Colorado, Utah and Nevada.

Job description

Shums Coda Associates, Inc. is a privately held company providing professional Building and Safety Consulting Services to jurisdictions to verify conformance with all applicable Building Codes. We are seeking full-time, experienced Plan Check Engineer within California, Arizona, Colorado, Utah and Nevada.

Responsibilities

Review plans, calculations and specifications for compliance with the most current adopted ordinances, laws, and state building codes.
Preparation of plans review comment letter according to municipality direction and SCA standards.
Meet and confer with the clients as-needed (via phone, email, virtual meeting or in-person) to clarify plan check comments.
