Requirements:

  • Create loan documents for new, renewal, and modification loans and assist with commercial loan closings.
  • Coordinate with third parties (Credit Union counsel, borrowers' counsel, title insurance company, hazard insurance company, Secretary of State, Register of Deeds, and SBA) and manage pre-close files with needs lists and receipt of documents.
  • Receive and audit executed closing documents and enforce departmental policies, procedures, and productivity standards; coordinate with Credit, Loan Officers, and Commercial Loan Operations.
  • For SBA loans (7A/504): compile and submit loan packages for SBA approval, draft closing checklists, prepare loan documents for closing, process servicing actions, and submit monthly 1502 reports.

Job description

Credit Union ONE has a Commercial Loan Documentation Processor opportunity within our Commercial Loan department. This positions is proficient in all aspects of commercial loan documentation for conventional, construction, asset based, and workout loans. This position works closely with commercial loan officers to help coordinate pre-closing, closing and post-closing responsibilities as well as ongoing amendments and modifications.

Completes compliant SBA approval, documentation, closing, post-closing, servicing, and guarantee purchases of SBA 7A and 504 loans. Communicates the status of SBA loans with borrowers, team members, and third parties.

Primary Responsibilities:

  • Creation of loan documents for new loans, renewal loans, and modifications of existing loans.
  • Assist loan officer with commercial loan closings:
      • Coordination with third parties which include but are not limited to, Credit Union’s counsel, borrowers counsel, title insurance company, hazard insurance company, Secretary of State, Register of Deeds and SBA.
      • Organize pre-close loan files, prepare and maintain needs list, and follow up as required to ensure receipt of all necessary documents.
      • Receive and audit executed closing documents.
  • Enforcing policies, procedures, and productivity standards in the department.
    • Coordinates with Credit, Loan Officers, and Commercial Loan Operations.
  • SBA

            Compile and submit loan packages and guarantee purchase packages to the SBA for approval and respond to any requests from SBA personnel

            Review SBA authorization, draft closing checklist, prepare loan documents for closing

            Process/document servicing actions on SBA 7A/504 loans, work with borrowers to get necessary information

            Compile and submit monthly 1502 reports

Requirements:

  • Bachelor’s degree preferred; a high school diploma or GED is required.
  • Minimum of three years of experience in a financial institution. Work related experience should consist of preparation of loan documents of all types for small business or middle market, or commercial lending/real estate, and/or portfolio management.
  • Combination education and related experience may result in a determination that the equivalent minimum requirements have been met.
  • Proficient with Laser Pro commercial loan documentation software.
  • Comprehensive understanding of commercial loan structures.
  • Knowledgeable of lending laws and regulations.
  • Familiarity with Small Business Administration.
  • Strong analytical, math, and auditing skills with willingness to use qualitative and quantitative data in decision making.
  • Ability to handle multiple activities or interruptions at once and to work positively and effectively within a team or self-directed model.
  • Intermediate skills in computer terminal and personal computer operation; MS Word, Excel, and Adobe Acrobat.
  • Exceptional verbal, written and interpersonal communication skills
  • Ability to work independently without supervision, handle multiple projects simultaneously and adapt to new demands and challenges.

This is a remote position.  Applicant needs to live in the state of Michigan. Excellent benefit package.
