Job Description

The Strategic Business Development Director, PCI DSS North America drives the strategic commercial growth of the Payment Card Industry Data Security Standard (PCI DSS) certification and related cybersecurity services across Business Assurance in US and Canada.    

This role will lead the commercial growth of our client base and existing services through strategic partnerships and sector awareness, ensures identification and development of new solutions/offerings (may be based on standards) that provide value in the market, ensures services are delivered with the highest level of quality.

  • Develop and execute a comprehensive go-to-market strategic plan to establish a robust pipeline of revenue for PCI DSS, aligned with global Digital Trust objectives.  
  • Role is a thought leader who brings awareness of future trends or sector directions.
  • Perceived as an influencer in the market with ability visionary guidance and represent SGS at key speaking engagements.
  • Coordinate with local SGS marketing to design and execute demand generation campaigns, thought leadership, and event participation.
  • Engage in regional regulation forums and communities. Represent the company at industry conferences, forums, and customer events.
  • Define and execute the roadmap to convert strategy into action with key milestones, timelines, and owners to drive business expansion
  • Develop partnerships with payment ecosystems, technology providers, acquirers, consulting firms, and other cybersecurity players.
  • Work with Marketing team to complete a detailed market segmentation analysis annually that considers the competition, technology, market segments, pricing/margins, growth rates, SWOT analysis, geographies, and client profiles.
  • Provide commercial support to the sales department including input to tender compilation and project/contract coordination.  Determine the resource requirements (technical, commercial, and operational) to grow the business.
  • Act as the subject matter expert for PCI DSS within North America.
  • Support digital marketing, webinars, events, and industry engagement.
  • Build visibility and credibility for our PCI DSS and Digital Trust capabilities in the region.
  • Adheres to internal standards, policies, and procedures.
  • Performs other duties as assigned

Qualifications

Education and Experience

  • Bachelor’s degree
  • 10 years’ experience in cybersecurity, PCI DSS, digital trust, and/or certification services.
  • Strong commercial track record in business development and revenue generations
  • Deep knowledge of PCI DSS framework and certification lifecycle
  • Strong industry network within the PCI DSS ecosystem in North America
  • Experience working in or with international delivery models (including offshore structures).
  • Ability to manage and coordinate multiple projects in a fast-paced, highly professional environment.

Knowledge/ Skills/ Abilities

  • Proven commercial leadership experience
  • Deep PCI DSS expertise, with the ability to engage both technical and executive stakeholders
  • Proven experience in building partnerships and driving demand generation.
  • Ability to operate effectively in a complex, matrixed, international organization, influencing without direct authority.
  • Excellent communication and executive presence
  • Hands-on, pragmatic execution mindset

Travel

  • Occasional travel required (5%-33%)

Compensation

The expected salary range for this position is $120,000 – $140,000 annually. This range represents the minimum and maximum base salary we reasonably expect to pay for this role. Actual compensation within the range will depend on skills, experience, and qualifications.
