As a Director, Consultant Relations on the Institutional Distribution team, you’ll play a pivotal role by deepening current and cultivating new relationships with Tier I and II Defined Contribution consulting firms and advisors to support new business growth. This role drives strategic engagement with the consultant community to position Edelman Financial Engines' participant services as a core element of modern plan design, expanding search inclusion, differentiating our value, accelerating growth, and strengthening client retention.

Partner with the Vice President of Institutional Distribution and cross-functional leaders (Product, Marketing, Investments, Institutional Services, and Sales) to shape and advance the consultant go‑to‑market strategy and enterprise positioning).
- Own and execute the consultant channel strategy through proactive outreach and close coordination with field teams, building durable relationships with top defined contribution consulting firms.
- Influence and shape consultant evaluation frameworks by developing deep insight into firm methodologies and positioning Edelman Financial Engines as a preferred advisory partner.
- Drive consultant‑led growth by setting and achieving ambitious opportunity expansion and client retention goals across key consulting relationships.
- Support enterprise priorities through the launch of new products, features, research, and strategic initiatives, ensuring strong consultant awareness and advocacy.
- Partner with Institutional Services and relationship management leaders to reinforce consultant engagement in support of client retention and long‑term account stability.
- Serve as a conduit of market intelligence—gathering consultant feedback on products, services, and competitive positioning—and deliver clear insights to internal leadership; represent the firm at key industry and consultant forums.

Edelman Financial Engines takes a market-based approach to pay. The expected base salary range for this role nationally is $157,600 - $210,100. However, final base pay will be carefully determined based on several factors, including responsibilities, job-related skills, relevant experience, geographic location, and market conditions. Additionally, this role may be eligible for other forms of compensation and benefits, such as a discretionary bonus, health, dental and other wellness plans, and 401(k) contributions.
