The Technical Sales Manager role encompasses a unique blend of technical expertise and sales acumen, aimed at enhancing customer relationships and driving business growth. This position involves understanding complex products or services and effectively communicating their value to customers, while also gathering insights on market needs to guide the development of new solutions. By serving as the liaison between sales team and clients, the Technical Sales Manager ensures that customer requirements are accurately translated into technical specifications, fostering a collaborative environment that leads to successful project outcomes. A strategic approach to sales, combined with a deep understanding of technical details is required to address customer queries confidently.

The Technical Sales Manager operates in a dynamic environment where the blend of technology and client interaction is paramount. This is a remote role where face-to-face client meetings are essential. This role may require flexibility in work hours to accommodate different time zones and client schedules, often leading to a mix of standard office hours and additional time outside the traditional work hours.

Requirements

Essential Functions:

· Develop and implement strategic sales plans to accommodate corporate goals.

· Present and sell company products and services to current and potential clients, focusing on technical features and benefits.

· Prepare action plans and schedules to identify specific targets and to project the number of contacts to be made.

· Manage account services through quality checks and other follow-up, identifying and resolving client concerns.

· Prepare presentations, proposals, and sales contracts, ensuring all technical aspects are clearly explained and understood by the client.

· Coordinate company staff to accomplish the work required to close sales, including technical experts for product demonstrations.

· Participate in marketing events such as seminars, trade shows, and telemarketing events, providing technical expertise.

· Monitor and evaluate the activities and products of the competition, focusing on technical advancements and market positioning.

Market Analysis: Tailoring approaches to align with trends, customer needs, and competitor strategies is crucial for Technical Sales Managers. By positioning products or services effectively in the market, they can craft targeted sales pitches and develop offerings that respond to industry demands, driving revenue growth and enhancing customer satisfaction.

Product Lifecycle Management: From inception through design, manufacturing, and service phases, managing a product’s lifecycle allows for the alignment of product capabilities with customer needs. Anticipating market trends and adjusting sales strategies accordingly.

Sales Forecasting: Utilizing past sales data and market trends enables the prediction of future sales volumes, optimizing inventory levels to meet demand without overstocking. Education/Experience:

· Bachelor’s or Associate's Degree, predominantly in fields like Business Administration, Marketing, Engineering or Information Technology.

· Advanced Excel/Microsoft Office experience

· Strong communication, organizational skills and attention to detail

· Three plus years working in direct sales for food services preferred

· Ability to work remote and travel up to 30%

Salary Description
$110,000- $140,000
