Roles & Responsibilities

  • BS or MS in Computer Science or Engineering, or 10+ years of relevant industry experience
  • Extensive experience with Java 8+, Spring, Spring MVC, JSP, Hibernate, Angular, REST/SOAP web services, Maven, Git, Jenkins
  • Experience with Agile methodologies and tools (Jira, Confluence)
  • Strong technical vision with hands-on software development and test automation, including BDD and TDD; experience with microservices architectures and writing reusable, performant code

  • Plan and develop end-to-end engineering solutions to achieve business goals; build reliability and resiliency with testing and reviews throughout the delivery lifecycle
  • Operate as part of a cross-functional Agile squad, partnering with the Product Owner, Scrum Master, and engineering peers to deliver high-quality, value-focused outcomes
  • Mentor, coach and train the delivery team in modern engineering practices to enable fast, low-waste software delivery; design and maintain high development standards; define standards and KPIs for end-to-end software delivery; ensure AFC objectives are included as appropriate
  • Review engineering plans and quality to drive reuse and improve engineering capability; ensure solutions are well-architected and can be integrated into end-to-end business processes; manage priorities in a fast-paced environment with excellent communication and collaboration

DB Global Technology is Deutsche Bank’s technology centre in Central and Eastern Europe. Since its set-up in 2013, Bucharest Technology Centre (BEX) has constantly proven its capacity to deliver global technology products and services, playing a dynamic role in the Bank’s technology transformation.

We have a robust, hands-on engineering culture dedicated to continuous learning, knowledge-sharing, technical skill development and networking. We are an essential part of the Bank’s technology platform and develop applications for many important business areas.

Our AFC team is responsible for protecting the bank from financial and reputational losses incurred by financial crimes by assessing, controlling and mitigating risks. Risk types related to Anti-Financial Crime are consolidated in a comprehensive and effective risk management framework that covers Anti-Money-Laundering, Sanctions & Embargoes, Anti-Bribery & Corruption as well as Anti-Fraud & Investigations.

As a senior engineer, you will be responsible for for managing or performing work across multiple areas of the bank's overall IT Platform/Infrastructure including analysis, development, and administration. It may also involve taking functional oversight of engineering delivery for specific departments. Work includes:

•Planning and developing entire engineering solutions to accomplish business goals

•Building reliability and resiliency into solutions with appropriate testing and reviewing throughout the delivery lifecycle

•Ensuring maintainability and reusability of engineering solutions

•Ensuring solutions are well architected and can be integrated successfully into the end-to-end business process flow

•Reviewing engineering plans and quality to drive re-use and improve engineering capability

Responsibilities

  • Operating as part of a cross‑functional Agile squad, partnering closely with the Product Owner, Scrum Master, and engineering peers to drive delivery of high‑quality, value‑focused outcome
  • Mentor, coach and train the delivery team in modern engineering practices, striving to ensure that your team can build, test and release software with the short lead times and a minimum of waste
  • Design, implement and maintain high development standards. Support in defining and implementing clear standards and KPI’s for end-to-end software delivery. Ensure wider AFC objectives are included as appropriate.
  • Drive changes in the team and own process improvement initiatives

Skills

  • BS or MS in Computer Science or Engineering or 10 years+ of relevant industry experience
  • Very experienced with following Tech Stack: Java 8+, Spring, Spring MVC, JSP technology, Hibernate, Angular, Webservices (REST, SOAP), Maven, Git, Jenkins; and prior experience working with Agile software methodologies and tools (Jira, Confluence)
  • Strong technical vision and hands on experience in software development and test automation, including BDD and TDD
  • Working knowledge micro services-based architectures and ability to develop reusable and performant clean code aligned with good architectural and design principles
  • Ability to manage priorities and conflicting timelines and work in a fast-paced environment with firm deadlines and excellent communication and collaboration skills
