Role: Application Modernization Engineer (AppMod SCE – GCP) Starting Date: Immediately Contract: long term Work Place: São Paulo/SP (100% remote) Work Time: 9h00 to 18h00 Language: Enghish advanced is mandatory and Spanish is desirable Position Overview We are seeking an Application Modernization Engineer (AppMod SCE) with strong expertise in application development, cloud-native architecture, and DevOps practices. This professional will be responsible for modernizing legacy applications, designing scalable architectures, and enabling cloud transformation initiatives leveraging the Google Cloud ecosystem. The role requires a hands-on profile with deep technical capabilities and the ability to operate across the full application lifecycle, from architecture definition to deployment and continuous improvement. Key Responsibilities • Design and execute application modernization strategies (rehost, replatform, refactor, rebuild) • Develop and maintain cloud-native applications using modern frameworks and architectures • Implement and evolve DevOps practices, including CI/CD pipelines and infrastructure automation • Design scalable and resilient application architectures on Google Cloud • Utilize Application Development Kits (ADKs) and modern development frameworks • Collaborate with cross-functional teams to ensure alignment between architecture, development, and operations • Optimize application performance, scalability, and cost efficiency • Support cloud migration and transformation initiatives Required Qualifications • Proven experience in application development and modernization projects • Strong background in DevOps practices and tools (CI/CD, automation, version control) • Hands-on experience with cloud platforms, preferably Google Cloud • Solid understanding of application architecture patterns (microservices, APIs, event-driven architecture) • Experience with containerization and orchestration (Docker, Kubernetes) • Familiarity with Application Development Kits (ADKs) and modern development ecosystems Preferred Qualifications • Experience with large-scale application modernization programs • Knowledge of cloud-native design principles and best practices • Experience with observability, monitoring, and reliability engineering • Familiarity with security best practices in cloud applications (DevSecOps) • Experience working in enterprise or consulting environments Key Competencies • Strong problem-solving and analytical thinking • Ownership and accountability • Effective communication and collaboration • Adaptability in dynamic environments • Focus on performance, scalability, and quality Further information will be given along the technical interview.
