Media Director
Overview
Hahn is looking for a Media Director to lead the strategic vision and direction of our media practice. This is a senior leadership role for someone who thinks in audience ecosystems and client outcomes, not just tactics. Youβll own media strategy across our client portfolio, serve as the senior media voice in client relationships, and help shape the future of how Hahn delivers integrated, data-powered media campaigns. This person understands that AI is reshaping how media is planned, bought, and measured, and theyβre not waiting to find out what that means for their clients.
This role leads, but it also does. Youβll be hands-on keys for select accounts while providing strategic direction and oversight across the full portfolio. The balance will evolve as our team grows, but the expectation is that youβre as comfortable building a strategy deck as you are inside a platform making optimization calls. Youβll also mentor and develop a growing team of media planners and coordinators, building both their skills and the practice itself.
This is a remote position within Texas and requires residence in Texas.
What Youβll Do
Media Strategy & Leadership
βββββββ’βββββDefine and lead cross-channel media strategy across an assigned portfolio of clients, ensuring campaigns are rooted in audience insights, competitive intelligence, and client business objectives.
βββββββ’βββββDevelop integrated traditional and digital media strategies spanning paid search, paid social, programmatic, CTV, OOH, broadcast, and emerging channels, with data informing planning and optimization decisions throughout.
βββββββ’βββββLeverage AI-powered tools and emerging technologies to enhance audience targeting, campaign modeling, predictive planning, and performance analysis, and stay ahead of how AI is changing the media buying landscape.
βββββββ’βββββStay ahead of shifts in the media landscape and proactively bring forward new platform recommendations, measurement approaches, and channel opportunities.
βββββββ’βββββContribute to annual budget planning, KPI development, partner selection, and ongoing campaign strategy for each client.
Hands-On Campaign Execution & Optimization
βββββββ’βββββServe as a hands-on practitioner for select accounts, including campaign setup, trafficking oversight, performance monitoring, and tactical optimizations.
βββββββ’βββββLead reporting across the portfolio, going beyond the numbers to surface meaningful insights, identify trends, and drive optimizations that deliver the best possible outcomes for clients.
βββββββ’βββββActively explore and apply AI-driven optimization tools within platforms and across reporting workflows, helping the team work smarter and surface insights faster.
βββββββ’βββββEnsure reporting deliverables are sharp, actionable, and client-ready, with clear recommendations tied to business goals.
βββββββ’βββββTroubleshoot performance issues and implement solutions directly or through team coordination.
Client Leadership
βββββββ’βββββServe as the senior media lead and strategic partner for clients, ensuring strong communication, proactive guidance, and a high level of trust.
βββββββ’βββββPresent strategic recommendations with confidence, solicit meaningful feedback, and translate client goals into clear direction for the team.
βββββββ’βββββPartner with account, creative, PR, analytics, and digital teams to deliver fully integrated campaigns across all Hahn industry verticals, including energy and utilities, health and nutrition, food and beverage, and essential services.
Team Mentorship & Development
βββββββ’βββββMentor, coach, and develop a team of media planners and coordinators, building both individual skills and collective capability.
βββββββ’βββββSet clear expectations, provide regular feedback, and create a culture of curiosity, accountability, and continuous learning.
βββββββ’βββββChampion AI fluency across the media team, helping planners and coordinators understand, adopt, and build confidence with tools that will define the next generation of media practice.
βββββββ’βββββAs the team scales, help define and build out channel specialization across paid search, paid social, and programmatic functions.
βββββββ’βββββParticipate in ongoing professional development and foster the same in your team.
Agency Growth
βββββββ’βββββActively contribute to new business pitches, RFP responses, and agency positioning efforts as a media subject matter expert.
βββββββ’βββββHelp build Hahnβs media practice reputation through vendor relationships, industry engagement, and thought leadership.
What You Bring
βββββββ’βββββ8+ years of paid media experience with demonstrated expertise across both traditional and digital media channels.
βββββββ’βββββStrong command of data-driven planning. You use research, audience insights, and performance data to build and refine campaign strategy.
βββββββ’βββββProven experience leading client relationships in an agency environment at a senior level.
βββββββ’βββββHands-on platform proficiency across key digital channels including DSPs, paid social, paid search, and CTV. You can lead the work and do the work.
βββββββ’βββββExperience managing and mentoring junior media team members.
βββββββ’βββββGenuine curiosity about AIβs role in media, from planning and buying to measurement and reporting. You donβt need to be an engineer, but you should be someone who leans in, experiments, and brings others along.
βββββββ’βββββHealthcare/health and nutrition experience is a plus. More importantly, youβre someone who can be knowledgeable on any industry we serve.
βββββββ’βββββProficiency in media planning, analytics, and reporting tools; familiarity with AI-powered media tools is a plus.
βββββββ’βββββStrong presentation and communication skills. You can make complex strategy feel clear and confident in a client setting.
βββββββ’βββββA collaborative, proactive mindset with sharp attention to detail and the ability to hold both the big picture and the performance details at once.
βββββββ’βββββBachelorβs degree in advertising, marketing, communications, or related field, or equivalent experience.
