The Job:  

As a Director of Product Management, Powertools, you’ll be part of our Stanley Engineered Fastening team working as a virtual employee. We are looking for an experienced and highly motivated Product Manager with deep commercial expertise and with a passion for driving change to implement a ground-up redesign and hyper-growth plan to double the size of our Fastening Powertool portfolio. You’ll get to:  

  • Lead, develop, and coach a cross-regional, multi-cultural product management team.
  • Foster a results-driven, collaborative work culture with process and governance excellence.
  • Design and implement global product strategies, measuring performance and progress.
  • Manage organizational change and complexity, supporting business transformation.
  • Build strong relationships with colleagues, customers, partners, and executive stakeholders.
  • Coordinate with multiple functions including sales, engineering, operations, and Tools & Outdoor division to align resources and goals.
  • Conduct comprehensive global market assessments to identify opportunities and required competencies.
  • Apply deep understanding of mechanical joining applications (Blind & Threaded) across automotive, heavy equipment, energy, and infrastructure sectors.
  • Analyze branding and recommend strategies to capture market share.
  • Plan engineering resources and deliver new product development (NPD) pipeline.
  • Lead ground-up portfolio redesign, leveraging product platforming to accelerate development and reduce cost.
  • Assess manufacturing footprint to optimize efficiency and customer proximity.
  • Develop and pitch compelling business cases to secure investment.
As global owner of the Fastening Powertool portfolio, your responsibilities also include:
  • Leading global product management team and achieving portfolio performance and profitability targets.
  • Meeting KPIs such as global revenue growth, gross margin growth, product vitality index, and ROI on NPD projects.
  • Sharing regional successes globally and conducting market research.
  • Identifying global technology and customer trends, performing competitor analysis, and articulating SEF’s competitive position.
  • Leading primary research projects to capture customer voice (VOC).
  • Managing the NPD pipeline and building business cases based on market and customer analysis.
  • Driving end-to-end management of NPD programs, ensuring coordinated execution across teams.
  • Owning customer-centric ideation, concept testing, and feedback throughout development.
  • Defining commercial launch propositions, including sales arguments and marketing investments.
  • Providing commercial and brand teams with guidance, technical knowledge, and customer insight.
  • Leading and participating in regular meetings (Product Review Board, S&OP) and collaborating on operational decisions (make vs buy, site selection).
  • Promoting a safe and positive work environment for all employees.

The Person:

  • Bachelor’s degree (Marketing or Engineering); MBA preferred.
  • 15+ years of global business experience with manufacturers of engineered products, including at least 10 years in product management.
  • Extensive B2B experience; knowledge of automotive, heavy engineering, or construction industries is beneficial.
  • Demonstrated success in driving industrial power tools product strategy, launching new products, and growing product segments.
  • Experience in product lifecycle management and leading cross-regional teams.
  • Strong planning, global project management, leadership, and communication skills.
  • Financial acumen for analyzing and reporting product line results.
  • Proficiency in data analytics and MS Office applications (Advanced Excel, PowerPoint, Word).

The base pay range for this position is $115,000 - $231,000 per year. Pay is based on market location and may vary depending on job-related knowledge, skills, and experience. A sign-on payment may be provided as part of the compensation package, in addition to a full range of medical, financial, and/or other benefits, dependent on the position offered. The Salary range for this position is $115,800.00 - $199,800.00

  • This is the lowest to highest annual full-time salary range we would pay for this role at the time of this posting. The salary offered within the range may vary depending on multiple factors including job level, geographic location, job-related knowledge, skills, qualifications, experience and in compliance with local wage requirements.
