Roles & Responsibilities

5+ years of full-time experience working directly with electric utilities (IOU, municipal, or cooperative)
BA/BS in engineering, business, or a relevant field; master's degree preferred
Significant domain expertise in one or more: Power Grids/Power Systems, Energy Markets, Grid Planning and Operations, Grid Modernization
Strong communication, interpersonal skills, and ability to work with diverse teams under time pressure and travel as needed

Requirements:

Develop and nurture long-term relationships with investor-owned, municipal, and cooperative utilities across North America; create new leads and inform regional priorities
Own key relationships with utility executives and operations teams (grid modernization, transmission and distribution, asset and vegetation management, grid planning) to scope deployments and close deals
Write formal proposals, create presentation materials, and present at trade shows and conferences; manage Hubspot CRM and sales pipeline; coach SDRs
Collaborate with internal teams and project managers to transition contracts into implementation and drive cross-functional improvements in sales processes, product development, and regulatory strategy

Ideally looking for candidates in the Southeast region (IE: Atlanta, Charlotte, Miami, etc.)

Responsibilities

Bring a rolodex of contacts from investor-owned, municipal, and cooperative utilities across North America
Create sustainable long-term relationships by providing win-win business solutions to utility clients in US
Develop new leads for prospective utility clients and inform regional priorities
Own key relationships with utility leaders, including executives and team leaders focused on grid modernization, transmission and distribution infrastructure inspections, asset and vegetation management, grid planning, and operations teams
Attend and present at select trade shows and conferences
Write formal project proposals, develop presentation slides, and other tools
Understand utility needs and pain points. Drive deployment scoping with utilities to balance stakeholder needs, internally and externally, and close deals that achieve both scale and rapid execution
Negotiate contracts through final execution
Consistently ensure that business is conducted with integrity at all times
Exercise indirect influence to maintain efficient and timely forward project progress
Support project manager to smoothly transition new contracts into implementation
Coordinate with fellow associates and co-founders on sales process improvements, product development, regulatory and policy goals, and competitive landscape
Knowledge in sales of B2B, SaaS products to enterprise clients (Energy experience is strongly recommended, though not required)
Coach SDRs on nurturing leads and to foster stronger pipeline
Maintain Hubspot and keep management and other key stakeholders appraised on sales activities and pipeline
Exceed sales targets by building and executing on an aggressive pipeline of investor-owned, municipal, and cooperative utilities

Qualifications

5+ years of full-time experience working directly with electric utilities
BA/BS, or equivalent experience, in engineering, business, or relevant field. Masters, or equivalent experience, preferred
Significant domain expertise through industry experience in one or several of the following areas: Power Grids, Power systems, Energy Markets, T&D assets and operations, Grid Planning and Operations, Grid modernization, Grid Reliability
Demonstrated track record of empathy, individual initiative, a spirit of inquiry, and solutions-orientation
Attention to detail and ability to function effectively under time pressure
Ability to work with diverse teams and translate between various areas of expertise
Flexibility and willingness to take on a variety of tasks in response to immediate customer needs
Excellent written and oral communication skills
Strong interpersonal skills and excellent work ethic
Comfort with remote collaboration tools. Travel required when necessary

You will be working with a talented, passionate and hardworking team of engineers and product/project managers to build end-to-end Machine Learning products and pipelines that will be deployed for our customers in order to prevent issues such as power outages, forced shutdowns, impact of climate change on the aging grid infrastructure and preventing wildfires.
