Health Data Analyst

Job description

Description

Develop data products and deliver insights that drive safer, more equitable health care for thousands of people across the United States. Health Quality Innovators (HQI) is seeking a rising professional with strong foundational knowledge and skills to join our growing analytic team.

The Health Data Analyst writes and runs programs to analyze and export data from government sources that include Medicare Fee-for-Service (FFS) and Medicare advantage claims, nursing home resident assessments and healthcare-associated infection databases. Other sources include beneficiary demographic, public health and electronic health record data files. In addition, you will query our Microsoft Dataverse platform and use business intelligence software to generate reports and dashboards at the individual provider, state and regional levels.

These analyses and reports help HQI’s quality improvement teams target geographic areas, patient populations and health care providers to engage in improvement initiatives, assess baseline performance on clinical quality measures for conditions like high blood pressure and patient harms like falls, identify and address health disparities, test the impact of improvement activities and measure progress over time.

As a Health Data Analyst, you will work with quality improvement teams to develop data collection tools, create surveys and other assessments, conduct root cause analyses and support programmatic evaluations. You will come to play an important role as an internal advisor who ensures the design of HQI improvement initiatives, selection and modification of interventions, and conclusions about performance are based on solid data and sound interpretation.

This is a terrific opportunity to enter or expand your familiarity with the rapidly expanding field of healthcare analytics. You will have the benefit of learning from experienced colleagues and working within rapid, responsive cloud-based IT systems. Since this is a fully remote position, you will enjoy the flexibility that comes with working from home.
