Insurance Verification and Authorization: Verify insurance coverage and eligibility prior to appointments; obtain pre-authorizations and referrals as required; coordinate with insurance companies to resolve coverage questions and discrepancies
Appointment Scheduling and Coordination: Schedule patient appointments based on provider availability; send reminders via phone, email, or SMS; reschedule/cancel as needed; coordinate with clinical staff to optimize provider schedules and patient flow; manage waitlists
Financial Communication and Documentation: Communicate patient financial responsibilities including copays, deductibles, and coinsurance; ensure accurate billing documentation; stay updated on various insurance plans, policies, and procedures

Job description

Patient Registration & Intake

Greet patients and caregivers professionally via phone, email, and virtual platforms
Collect accurate patient demographic information, medical history, and contact details Prepare and process patient admission and discharge documentation
Enter patient information into Electronic Health Records (EHR) and practice management systems
Maintain accurate and complete patient records in compliance with HIPAA regulations
Verify patient identity and update existing patient profiles as needed

Insurance Verification & Authorization

Verify insurance coverage and eligibility for services prior to appointments
Obtain pre-authorizations and referrals as required by insurance plans
Communicate patient financial responsibilities including copays, deductibles, and coinsurance
Process insurance information and ensure accurate billing documentation
Coordinate with insurance companies to resolve coverage questions and discrepancies
Stay updated on various insurance plans, policies, and procedures

Appointment Scheduling & Coordination

Schedule patient appointments based on provider availability and patient needs
Send appointment reminders and confirmations via phone, email, or SMS
Reschedule and cancel appointments as requested while maintaining optimal provider schedules
Coordinate with clinical staff to ensure smooth patient flow and minimize wait times
Manage appointment waitlists and fill cancellations efficiently
