Senior (Java/Kotlin/Python) Engineer - GP, Remote: Colombia - Costa Rica, Fulltime

Gorilla Logic is looking for a Senior Software Engineer, Fullstack to join our growing team supporting a leading fintech client. In this role, you will contribute to the development and evolution of a modern digital card experience, working across backend and frontend systems. You will collaborate closely with cross-functional teams including product, design, and analytics to deliver scalable, high-quality solutions that enhance the end-user experience.

This is a hands-on engineering role ideal for someone who thrives in fast-paced environments, enjoys solving complex problems, and takes ownership of delivering impactful features.

Responsibilities

• Own and deliver features and initiatives aligned with quarterly goals, guiding technical execution from concept to production.
• Collaborate with product managers, designers, and analytics partners to shape solutions, define technical approaches, and evaluate trade-offs.
• Design, develop, and maintain scalable backend services and modern web applications.
• Proactively identify technical, process, or product challenges and drive solutions.
• Ensure system reliability and performance by implementing monitoring, metrics, and operational best practices.
• Promote a culture of quality through code reviews, design discussions, and engineering best practices.
• Mentor and support other engineers by providing constructive feedback and technical guidance.
  

Requirements

• 4+ years of professional experience in software engineering.
• Strong experience building and scaling backend systems using technologies such as Python or Kotlin.
• Experience working with cloud platforms (AWS preferred), relational databases (MySQL), and containerized environments (Kubernetes).
• Experience developing modern web applications using frameworks such as React or Vue.
• Solid understanding of software design principles and ability to create scalable, maintainable architectures.
• Experience working within large codebases and implementing safe, incremental changes.
• Strong communication skills with the ability to collaborate effectively across distributed teams.
• Proven ability to take ownership, drive initiatives, and deliver results.
• Proactive mindset with a focus on continuous improvement and learning.
• Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Engineering, or a related field, or equivalent practical experience.

• Experience working in fintech or consumer-facing product environments.
