Position Overview:

The Legal team seeks an intern to aid in tagging contract fields, research new laws and regulations affecting DrFirst, and collaborate with attorneys to update templates with consistent provisions in key areas such as billing, taxes, data usage, and privacy.

 

This is a full-time position that will span over the course of 10 weeks. The program will start Monday, June 1st and end Friday, August 7th.

What you will work on:
  • Aid in tagging contract fields for easy searchability of specific provisions
  • Conduct research on emerging laws and regulations relevant to DrFirst
  • Collaborate with attorneys to ensure consistency in template provisions, particularly in areas such as billing, taxes, data usage, and privacy
  • Assist in maintaining a unified set of documents on our SharePoint site for streamlined access
  • Contribute to updating the Contract Playbook

Learning Goals

  • Comprehend legal provisions across diverse contracts
  • Acquire knowledge about recent laws and regulations affecting healthcare/technology, including privacy and security protocols
  • Develop the ability to identify necessary legal terminology and maintain agreement consistency
  • Learn negotiation techniques by participating in Contract Playbook updates
Qualifications:
  • Passion for healthcare, technology, or privacy law
  • Current undergraduate or law student (preferred)
  • Availability to commit to a minimum of 40 hours per week
  • Successful completion of the Criteria Cognitive Aptitude Assessment with a passing score
  • Exceptional attention to detail and accuracy
  • Proficient in research, organization, and written and verbal communication
  • Enthusiastic and proactive in approaching new projects and concepts
Physical Requirements:
  • This role is 100% remote:

    • While performing the duties of this job, the employee may be regularly required to stand, sit, talk, hear, reach, stoop, kneel, and use hands and fingers to operate a computer, telephone, and keyboard.
    • Specific vision abilities required by this job include close vision requirements due to computer work.
    • Standard schedule: 9:00 AM to 5:00 PM EST. Consistent availability during these hours is required.
    • Reliable internet connection and a suitable workspace are expected.

Benefits:

Compensation

  • Competitive compensation with an hourly rate ranging from $20.00 - $30.00 per hour (exact rate may vary based on skills and experience). Eligible for overtime per applicable law.
  • This is an internship position. Standard full-time employee benefits do not apply.
