POSITION SUMMARY 

The Supplier Relationship Manager is responsible for building and managing strategic supplier relationships with national account programs. This role will design and implement a comprehensive national account program, drive supplier performance through quarterly business reviews and scorecarding, and lead consolidation initiatives to optimize supplier partnerships. The position requires a blend of strategic vision, analytical rigor, and relationship management to ensure suppliers align with organizational goals for cost efficiency, quality, and innovation. 

 

LOCATION 

Remote, travel up to 30-35% 

COMPENSATION

This position offers a competitive compensation package, benchmarked to regional market standards. It consists of a base salary plus the opportunity for quarterly profit sharing after one year of employment. 

 

RESPONSIBILITIES 

National Account Program Development 

  • Design and implement a comprehensive national account program to standardize supplier engagement.
  • Establish governance frameworks, communication protocols, and performance metrics. 

Supplier Performance Management 

  • Lead quarterly business reviews (QBRs) with key suppliers to evaluate performance and identify opportunities.
  • Develop and maintain supplier scorecards to track KPIs such as cost, quality, delivery, and compliance. 

National Account Consolidation 

  • Identify and execute opportunities to consolidate supplier relationships across business units.
  • Negotiate contracts to maximize value, efficiency, and economies of scale. 

Cross-Functional Collaboration 

  • Partner with procurement, operations, finance, and logistics teams to align supplier strategies with organizational objectives.
  • Ensure compliance with corporate policies and regulatory requirements. 

Strategic Supplier Development 

  • Build long-term partnerships that foster innovation, sustainability, and competitive advantage.
  • Monitor market trends to anticipate risks and opportunities. 

  

REQUIREMENTS 

MUST HAVE 

  • Bachelor’s degree in Supply Chain Management, Business Administration, or related field
  • 7+ years of experience in supplier management, procurement, or supply chain leadership.
  • Proven track record in developing and managing national account programs.
  • Strong negotiation and contract management skills.
  • Excellent analytical abilities with experience in supplier scorecarding and performance metrics.
  • Ability to lead cross-functional teams and influence stakeholders at all levels.
  • Exceptional communication and presentation skills.
  • Proficiency in supply chain management systems and data analysis tools.
  • Strategic thinker with a results-driven mindset.
  • Strong relationship builder and collaborator.
  • Comfortable managing complexity and driving change in dynamic environments. 

 NICE TO HAVE 

  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite, including Excel, Outlook, Word, and PowerPoint (experience with Microsoft Dynamics preferred).
  • Experience in industries such as manufacturing, upfit, utility equipment, rental, body shop, or automotive.
  • Experience managing an existing national account program.
