Zillow Group is seeking a Principal Manager, Marketing Strategy to join our Marketing Strategy team. This is a high-impact individual contributor role that sits at the intersection of strategy, analytics, and marketing.
You will serve as a strategic partner to leaders within Marketing and Zillow Elevate, moving fluently between strategic thinking and hands-on analyses to frame problems and develop recommendations. The ideal candidate brings a "strategy consulting" toolkit—structured problem solving, executive communication, and commercial acumen—combined with the willingness to roll up their sleeves and dig into the data.
Lead strategic projects: Lead discrete, high-impact initiatives that blend strategy and analytics across the team's portfolio. Projects may include deep-dives on Elevate yield optimization and product opportunities, as well as broader Marketing topics such as audience segmentation or data-driven decisioning.
Drive Elevate growth strategy: Serve as the dedicated strategic partner for Zillow Elevate, providing always-on strategic support to deliver and refine the growth strategy. Partner with Elevate business leaders to ensure effective execution against near- and long-term vision, as well as proactively identify and resolve growth risks.
Deliver data-driven insights: Conduct hands-on qualitative and quantitative analyses to inform and validate opportunities, including growth modeling and external research. You will be expected to use data to pressure-test hypotheses and support your recommendations.
Cultivate strong relationships: Build effective working relationships with key leaders in Zillow Elevate and Marketing to shape recommendations with appropriate context, drive successful adoption, and deliver impact.
Craft clear communication: Synthesize recommendations into clear, concise, and compelling narratives for senior leadership to drive decision-making.
Experience: 10+ years of relevant experience, with 3+ years in strategy consulting, corporate strategy, or a dedicated strategy role within a business or technology organization. Familiarity with marketing or advertising is an added bonus.
Education: MBA or Master's degree in a relevant field (e.g., Economics, Finance, Business Analytics) is preferred.
Strategic: Proven ability to deconstruct ambiguous business problems, develop structured frameworks, and connect recommendations to tangible business outcomes.
Analytical: Analytically fluent—you are comfortable conducting analyses, building models, and interpreting data to drive recommendations. Working fluency in SQL is preferred; proficiency in Python or visualization tools (e.g., Tableau) is a nice-to-have.
Driven: Demonstrated ability to operate independently in an unstructured environment, managing multiple workstreams and stakeholders without constant oversight.
Storyteller: Expert at delivering clear concise communications and building executive-ready presentations that translate insights into actionable direction for senior stakeholders.
