Mobility - Data Analyst & Data Science
Main Purpose:
The Data Science and Data Analyst will play a crucial role in transforming data into actionable insights within the Mobility Operations team at GBS (Global Business Service). This position focuses on analyzing vast amounts of data from multiple sources including travel management, expense management, corporate credit cards, and fleet operations, to enhance decision-making processes and optimize operational efficiency. By leveraging advanced analytical techniques and data visualization tools, the analyst will support the community in achieving its strategic objectives and positive impacts across the organization.
Scope:
The Data Science and Data Analyst will be instrumental in ensuring that data-driven insights are effectively utilized to enhance and maximize the Mobility Operations processes:
- Data Analysis: Utilize statistical methods and data mining techniques to analyze data from various sources, including travel, expenses, and fleet management, and identify trends, patterns, and/or anomalies.
- Data Visualization: Create compelling data visualizations and dashboards that communicate insights clearly and effectively to the community and stakeholders, enabling informed decision-making.
- Process Optimization: Identify opportunities for process/systems improvements based on data analysis, recommending best practices that streamline operations and enhance user experience.
- Stakeholder Engagement: Work closely with Mobility Governance Body to gather feedback on data utilization and reporting, ensuring that analytics solutions meet their needs and enhance operational effectiveness.
- Compliance and Risk Management: Ensure that data practices adhere to compliance standards and risk management protocols, maintaining data integrity and security.
- Performance Metrics: Develop and monitor key performance indicators (KPIs) to assess the effectiveness of mobility governance and mobility operations and inform continuous improvement efforts.
- Training and Support: Provide training and support to Mobility Community on data tools and analytics best practices, fostering a data-driven culture within the organization.
YOUR TASKS AND RESPONSIBILITIES
- Oversee the collection, cleaning, and management of data from various sources ensuring accuracy and reliability for analysis.
- Employ advanced analytical techniques including predictive modeling and machine learning to derive insights that drive both governance and operational improvements.
- Generate regular reports and presentations that summarize key findings and recommendations for stakeholders and facilitate strategic discussions.
- Work with IT community to enhance data infrastructure and ensure seamless integration of data from various systems.
Key Working Relationships:
- Internal Teams: Collaborate closely with Mobility Operations and other key functions like Procurement, Finance, IT, or HR to align data analysis initiatives with organizational goals and enhance overall operational effectiveness.
- External Partners: Engage with third-party suppliers such as BCD Travel, SAP-Concur, AMEX, Citibank, or fleet management companies to ensure seamless data integration and support for mobility processes.
WHO YOU ARE
Bayer seeks an incumbent who possesses the following:
- University degree in Data Science, Computer Science, Statistics, Mathematics, Business Analytics, Economics or a related field.
- Professional experience in data analysis, business intelligence, and/or data science.
- Strong skills in statistical methods and data mining, including experience working with large, complex data sets from multiple sources (e.g. travel, expenses, credit cards, fleet).
- Experience with data visualization and dashboarding tools (e.g. Power BI, Tableau or similar).
- Strong collaboration and communication skills to work effectively with internal stakeholders (e.g. Mobility Operations, Procurement, Finance, IT, HR) and external partners (e.g. BCD Travel, SAP-Concur, AMEX, Citibank, fleet providers).
- Ability to translate analytical insights into clear recommendations, reports, and presentations for business stakeholders.
- High level of accuracy, attention to detail and a proactive, problem-solving mindset.
