Business Operations Analyst Intern Commitment: 3–12 months (Long-term preference) Capacity: Open to Part-Time and Full-Time Candidates (Minimum 20 hours/week) Location: Hybrid (Seattle) or Fully Remote (U.S.) Status: Non-exempt Internship
Position Summary
The Business Operations Analyst Intern supports initiatives that leverage data collection and analysis to drive process improvement, business development strategy, and Monitoring, Evaluation, and Learning (MEL). This role is ideal for a candidate who is analytically curious, detail-oriented, and systems-focused, with a genuine motivation to apply data toward social impact. You will sit within the Business Strategy & Operations team, collaborating closely with Finance, Program, and Operations teams to protect data integrity, streamline internal workflows, and generate the insights necessary for high-level decision-making.

Analytical Mindset: You enjoy digging into the "why" behind the numbers and are comfortable navigating data to find solutions.
Systems-Focused: You are interested in how different departments (Finance, Ops, Programs) connect and how to make those connections more efficient.
Commitment: We are seeking a minimum commitment of 3 months, though we have a strong preference for candidates available for 6–12 months to ensure deep project involvement.
Adaptability: You are comfortable working in a hybrid environment (if Seattle-based) or a fully remote, U.S.-based setting.
Essential Duties & Responsibilities
Data Collection & Analysis
Support structured data collection across programs and operational functions using our CRM
Conduct quantitative analysis to identify trends, gaps, and performance insights related to Panorama’s business development goals, while supporting implementation of new data-capture processes
Assist in maintaining and improving data quality and documentation standards
Develop dashboards, reports, and visualizations (e.g. in Excel, Salesforce, Tableau, or similar tools) to support internal and external stakeholders
Process Improvement
Map and analyze current operational workflows
Identify inefficiencies, control gaps, or redundancies
Recommend process enhancements to improve efficiency, transparency, and scalability
Support documentation of standard operating procedures (SOPs)
Assist with systems testing, user feedback collection, and documentation updates related to new or improved tools and processes
Measurement, Evaluation & Learning (MEL)
Assist in tracking program performance indicators and impact metrics
Support development and refinement of monitoring frameworks and logic models
Contribute to learning and impact reporting for internal teams, leadership, or funders
Help translate data findings into actionable learning insights
Conduct field research contributing to Panorama’s Impact Framework
Organizational Engagement & Participation
Participate in team meetings, learning sessions, and cross-functional collaboration
Accurately record required data and time in organizational systems (e.g., Harvest, Salesforce, SharePoint)
Demonstrate curiosity, initiative, and openness to feedback in a fast-paced, mission-driven environment
Participate in and actively contribute to internal Learning & Development opportunities.
Goals and Learning Objectives:
Hands-on experience with nonprofit operational systems and data governance
Exposure to Measurement, Evaluation, and Learning practices
Practical experience improving business processes in a mission-driven environment
Professional mentorship and cross-functional collaboration experience
Portfolio-ready dashboards, reports, or process documentation (as applicable)
Exposure to systems such as Salesforce, Tableau, Sage Intacct, SharePoint and other enterprise platforms used in non-profit operations
Capstone project may be developed in collaboration with the intern, depending on specific interests.
Proficiency in Microsoft Excel (including pivot tables, formulas, data cleaning functions)
Ability to use asynchronous collaboration tools and intentional communication (Teams, SharePoint, etc.)
Ability to manage multiple tasks with attention to detail
Strong written and verbal communication skills, with the ability to synthesize information clearly for diverse audiences
Interest in learning about non-profit operations, philanthropy, and/or social impact work
Commitment to diversity, equity, and inclusion, and interest in contributing to a collaborative organizational culture
Preferred Qualifications
Experience with Salesforce or other CRM platforms, especially developing automations
Basic understanding of relational databases
Experience with data visualization tools such as Tableau or Power BI
Exposure to nonprofit operations, social impact work, or MEL frameworks
Comfort working with both structured and semi-structured datasets
Compensation Panorama offers paid internships at $21.30/hour, in line with Seattle, Washington, minimum wage requirements, including for those working outside of Seattle, Washington. If the intern is in a municipality with a higher minimum wage than described, Panorama will pay the local minimum wage as required by law.
