Job description

Job Title: Senior BusinessObjects Developer

Location: Remote

Certifications: ITIL v4 preferred but not mandatory

Clearance: N/A

Education: Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science or related engineering field or related experience

Qualifications:

Minimum of 5 years of experience as a BusinessObjects developer
Solid analytical/interpersonal/communication skills
Demonstrated teamwork

Responsibilities:

· Senior BusinessObjects engineer is responsible for leading the design, development, and maintenance of complex SAP BusinessObjects (BOBJ) Universes using Information Design Tool (IDT), as well as Web Intelligence (WebI) reports, leveraging advanced variables, formulas, and data modeling techniques. Thorough understanding of Business Objects based design and development processes including - universe design and development, report design and development, and business intelligence reporting strategies.

· Ability to perform requirement analysis and translate complex business requirements to BO universe design. Collaborate with stakeholders to translate business needs into technical specifications and functional BI requirements.

· Strong technical understanding and ability to troubleshoot and resolve complex BOBJ issues, including universe optimization (removing loops, using contexts) and report performance tuning in order to optimize performance.

· Must have good understanding of security & administration in BusinessObjects including managing user security, roles, and privileges within the Central Management Console, folder structures and report scheduling.

· Strong Data Integration & SQL writing abilities. Write, optimize, and tune complex SQL queries and stored procedures to improve performance.

· Strong understanding of database architecture and data modeling design and experience with data modeling tools such as Erwin.

· Coordinate with the project managers/scrum masters/team leads on the status of all development tasks and any risks/issues/impediments through out the system development lifecycle.

· Testing & Documentation: Conduct unit testing, validation testing, and create comprehensive documentation for technical designs and user guides.

· Must have good communications skills with the ability translate technical details to non-technical end-users. Comfortable with conducting occasional BusinessObjects training for end users, as well as help desk support for end users on BO report development and best practices.
