Razor is seeking a Senior Cloud Database Engineer to lead the migration from a monolithic legacy database environment to a modern, cloud-native platform. This role focuses on database design, schema conversion, and data migration to PostgreSQL. The engineer will work closely with Solutions Architects, DevOps, and CloudOps teams to design and execute migration strategies while ensuring data integrity, performance, scalability, and reliability in AWS environments.
Education & Certification Requirements
Bachelor's Degree in an IT/Computer Science or Technical Field is required
Clearance Requirements
Ability to obtain a Public Trust low level Security Clearance will be required

Responsibilities
• Lead schema conversion and data migration from legacy databases such as Sybase, Oracle, and SQL Server to PostgreSQL
• Design and execute database migration strategies and workflows
• Provision, manage, and support databases on AWS RDS and Aurora PostgreSQL
• Collaborate with Solutions Architects, DevOps, and CloudOps teams on migration and cloud database initiatives
• Ensure data integrity, performance, scalability, and reliability during and after database migration
Qualifications
• Experience in database engineering or a related field
• Strong experience with database design, schema conversion, and data migration
• Hands-on production experience with AWS RDS PostgreSQL
• Experience using database migration tools such as AWS DMS and Flyway
• Proficiency in Python and shell scripting
• Experience implementing secure database access and authentication mechanisms
Desired Skills
• Experience with Amazon Aurora PostgreSQL
• Experience with database instance sizing, backup strategies, and high availability
• Proven experience migrating from legacy databases including Sybase, Oracle, and SQL Server
• Familiarity with infrastructure-as-code tools such as Terraform and CloudFormation
• Experience with CI/CD pipelines and DevOps practices
