Taking care of our environment has never been more important than it is today. The Nature Conservancy of Canada (NCC) is looking for a Regional Vice President, Atlantic to join a team committed to protecting our most important natural areas and the plants and animals they sustain.
NCC is the nation’s leading not-for-profit, private land conservation organization, working to protect our most important natural areas and the species they sustain. Since 1962, we have brought people together to conserve and restore more than 20 million hectares across Canada. The Organization
Taking care of our environment has never been more important than it is today. The Nature Conservancy of Canada (NCC) is looking for a Regional Vice President, Atlantic, to join a team committed to protecting our most important natural areas that sustain all life.
NCC is the country’s leading non-governmental land conservation organization. As a non-profit, charitable organization we work in partnership with individuals, Indigenous communities, corporations, governments, and other non-profit groups to protect our most important natural treasures and deliver nature-based solutions. We take a collaborative and evidence-based approach to deliver our mission. Since 1962 NCC and its partners have helped to conserve more than 20 million hectares, from coast-to-coast-to-coast.
The Position
Reporting to the Vice President, Operations, and under their direction, the Regional Vice President (RVP), Atlantic is responsible for advancing NCC’s mission and organizational priorities within the four Atlantic provinces. The RVP leads Atlantic’s regional delivery across conservation, fundraising, partnerships, and people leadership. Alongside the VP Operations, the RVP is a passionate and compelling ambassador for NCC within the Atlantic region, ensuring NCC has a strong presence and voice in the region. They will ensure NCC in Atlantic has sustained growth by raising the profile of NCC within Atlantic Canada.
The RVP is an exceptional people leader who builds strong relationships and motivates a multi-disciplinary regional team to do their best work. Working closely with a Regional Advisory Board, donors, Indigenous communities, governments, landowners, and other partners, the RVP builds enthusiasm and commitment to a shared vision that accelerates conservation in the region. This role offers a unique opportunity to shape conservation impact in Atlantic while contributing to NCC’s national goals.
The RVP brings to NCC their established connections within aligned organizations, such as the provincial governments, Indigenous Peoples, corporations and philanthropists, and a natural ability to bring these groups together for the common good. While a professional conservation background is an asset, it is not a prerequisite for this role. However, the successful candidate must be able to demonstrate a passion for nature and the mission of NCC as the RVP must be able to internally and externally generate excitement and motivation in achieving NCC’s goals.
This position may be based remotely or hybrid from a major center in the Atlantic Region. It requires regular travel within the four Atlantic provinces, and infrequent travel to other locations across Canada.
