Job Description
The Credit Officer is tasked with resolving moderate to complex credit and financial problems that may influence the overall company's performance.
They carry out these duties within a well-structured hierarchy and require little to no assistance, especially for mundane tasks. The role becomes more and more autonomous with a range of advanced knowledge about their function and the organization as a whole.
Responsibilities:
· Direct the assessment and analysis of financial information and credit data to make informed credit decisions.
· Provide technical guidance and assist in the training and development of junior team members.
· Assess risks, review existing policies, and introduce improvements to enhance the organization's effectiveness in handling credit.
· Cooperate with other departments to ensure seamless operation and implementation of the credit policy.
· Conduct a thorough analysis of financial statements and credit reports to maintain minimal credit risks.
· Ensure compliance with all internal control procedures and regulations.
· Provide insightful, confident, and decisive recommendations that influence the company's lending strategies.

Education:
A Bachelor’s degree in Finance, Economics, Business Administration, or related field. Higher qualifications and certifications are preferred.

· Review and verify applicants' personal and financial information.· Draft financial reports detailing individual or business creditworthiness.· Develop credit scoring models to predict risks.· Interpret and utilise complex financial and statistical data.· Update job knowledge by participating in educational opportunities, reading professional publications, and maintaining personal networks.
Software Application:
Proficiency in using advanced Microsoft Excel features and financial software applications is crucial.
Years Of Experience:
Should have between 5 - 8 years of relevant work experience in credit analysis or a closely related field.
