A Senior Technical Consultant at Heller Consulting is responsible for maintaining and providing expert level technology, engineering and project leadership knowledge. As a Senior Technical Consultant, Heller team members are expected to serve as an example of Heller’s philosophy when managing clients and projects. In addition to consulting duties, this position participates in the firm’s growth by offering constructive feedback and working on initiatives that enhance Heller’s strategies and priorities. Senior Technical Consultants are expected to work and take leadership roles on our most complex, challenging and emerging technology projects. 

RESPONSIBILITIES:

  • Take ownership around your professional development to ensure all above competencies are mastered and built upon annually
  • Work on projects that have components, concepts, phases or products that are new to you
  • Lead by example within project teams, internal initiatives, and in all day-to-day work/interactions with peers
  • Take initiative and be a forward thinker around project next steps, task delegation, project sequencing or product configuration creativity
  • Mentor peers both within projects, internal initiatives and in an informal capacity
  • Actively contribute to and build Heller’s knowledgebase/knowledge sharing
  • Understand and be able to speak to services provided across the firm,
  • Identify and route opportunities for expanding service offerings within client portfolio
  • Participate in, contribute to, and/or lead internal initiatives
  • Complete additional firm capacity building work in the form of at least one of the following:
    • Service Department
    • Project Lead
    • Solution Architect
    • Project Advisor
    • Emerging Service and New Product Delivery
    • Strategic Services

REQUIRED SKILLS AND QUALIFICATIONS:

  • At least 2 years tenure at Heller Consulting or previous comparable and relevant technical, client-facing experience
  • Demonstrate fluency in at least one database technology, one data transformation technology, one AI technology, one cloud platform, and one programming language
  • Meet or exceed billable and internal hourly goals on a regular basis
  • Achieve mastery level competency for the following necessary consulting skill sets:
    • Professional conduct with colleagues and clients
    • Proactively and independently track project budget hours, and scale work to fit within a specific project budget while simultaneously demonstrating flexibility and creativity to meet client priorities with the given resources, budget and time
    • Successfully manage work across multiple large, complex, and/or high priority projects by consistently meeting project deadlines, project priorities, and client requirements while delivering a high quality of work and meeting your billable goal
    • Deliver high quality work despite obstacles such as client organizational culture, personality challenges with team and/or clients, and potential challenges with industry partners and product vendors
    • Effectively manage conflict interpersonally (Heller team members, clients, managers) and within project logistics (budget, scope, timeline)
    • Prioritize tasks, know which tasks need to be done first and which tasks can wait
    • Take high level requirements and/or business needs and develop strategic, technical approaches to meeting the client’s needs
    • Recognize factors that will affect a project’s success and communicate escalations clearly to the Project Lead, or Project Manager, as applicable per the project’s escalation path
    • Communicate in a timely, clear and effective manner with team members and ensure all are informed of project status
    • When serving as the Project Lead, be directive and clear when delegating tasks to project team members
    • Demonstrate flexibility and creativity within project to ensure client requirements and priorities as well as the project team’s needs are consistently met

LOCATION: Remote, U.S. Some company-funded travel may be required to attend client onsites, sales support activities, conferences, or to participate in annual staff activities or in-person team meetings.

WORKING HOURS: Our business operation requires employees to work in one of the four, continental U.S. time zones during regular, Mon-Fri business hours. 

Pay Range expected for the position: $130k-$170k annually.

(The position level and compensation for this role will be determined based on the market location, experience, job skills, and qualifications of the candidate)
