POSITION TITLE:     Project Manager

Supervised by:            PMO Manager (Direct), 

                                 Program Lead (Indirect)

Supervises:                N/A

Status:                       Full-Time, Exempt

POSITION SUMMARY.     

Manages all aspects of complex projects from inception to conclusion.  Reports project status to Project Manager Program Lead (Lead) and Director of the PMO. 

JOB DUTIES and ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS.  A qualified individual must be able to perform the essential functions of the job as listed, with or without accommodation.  (An Asterisk (*) Identifies an Essential Function)

  1. Point of contact on assigned projects, performs a variety of highly skilled duties such as assembling, coordinating, and managing multidisciplinary technical review teams. (*)
    1. Responds to inquiries about projects.
    2. Coordinates schedules of project teams and other interested parties.
    3. Creates, maintains, and disseminates master project plans and project documentation to MediQuant and client project team members.
    4. Participates in organizational and departmental process improvement initiatives.    
  2. Facilitates and troubleshoots problems associated with project implementations. (*)
    1. Chairs various project review and pre-submittal meetings.
    2. Assists in developing departmental plans, goals, objectives, policies and procedures.
    3. Identifies project issues and risks, and develops risk mitigation plans for appropriate escalation to MediQuant leadership and/or key client stakeholders.
  3. Manages any number of projects at various stages of work. (*)
    1. Manages project plans, timeline adjustments, and client expectations.
    2. Completes project invoicing milestones and other associated client billing documentation.
    3. Facilitates MediQuant and/or client post go-live debrief and quality review sessions.
  4. Works with PMO Leadership, including Director of the PMO, the Delivery Coordinator and Project Manager Program. (*) Leads on cross-project coordination, resource and task planning, periodization, and escalations.

QUALIFICATIONS.

Required Education and Experience.

•    Bachelor’s degree in Business Administration, IT, Accounting or related field

•    A minimum of 3-5 years previous project management experience

•    Prior work experience in a hospital or healthcare environment, preferred

•    CPMP/PMP

•    Demonstrated experience working with external clients and third-party vendors

•    Demonstrated understanding of Software Implementation Project deliverables

•    Strong documentation, organization, and meeting facilitation skills

•    Strong analytical and problem-solving skills

•    Working knowledge of Microsoft Office (Outlook, Word, Excel, Visio, PowerPoint, etc.)

Supervisory Responsibility.  Incumbent has no direct supervisory duties, though management of projects includes directing project related activities of the project team members.

Position Type/Expected Hours of Work.  This is a full-time position. Days and hours of work are typically Monday through Friday, 8:30 a.m. to 5 p.m. Occasional evening and weekend work may be required. Incumbent should expect to regularly work a 40-45 hour week or more as job duties demand.

Travel.  Travel is required to client sites and may require out-of-the-area and overnight travel up to 10-15% of the time. 

Work Environment.  This job generally operates in a professional office environment. This role routinely uses standard office equipment such as computers, phones, photocopiers, filing cabinets and fax machines. The employee is occasionally exposed to a variety of conditions at client sites and while traveling. 

Physical Demands.  The physical demands described here are representative of those that must be met by an employee to successfully perform the essential functions of this job.

While performing the duties of this job, the employee is regularly required to talk or hear. The employee frequently is required to stand; walk; use hands to finger, handle or feel; and reach with hands and arms. 

The employee is occasionally required to sit; climb or balance; and stoop, kneel, crouch or crawl. Specific vision abilities required by this job include close vision, distance vision, color vision, peripheral vision, depth perception and ability to adjust focus

Work Authorization. In compliance with Federal employment laws, MediQuant will verify the identity and employment authorization of each person hired. MediQuant participates in the Federal E-Verify program.

Security Clearance. Must be able to pass all security clearances mandated by various government contracts as well as any client hospital/healthcare security requirements.  Any employee working on government projects will be required to successfully pass a government background check and receive a Common Access Card (CAC).  Additionally, the applicant must be a U.S. citizen and will be subject to a Public Trust security background investigation and must meet requirements to obtain a Department of Defense (DOD) network account.
