Our Academic Services team plays a central role in ensuring high-quality teaching and learning outcomes. We actively explore innovation in digital learning, including emerging tools such as generative AI, to enhance both the design process and learner experience. We collaborate with academics, subject-matter experts, and technology specialists to create accessible, industry-relevant learning experiences that inspire and support learners. We are a supportive team who value collaboration, curiosity, and continuous learning, and we provide structured professional development along with mentoring from experienced Learning Designers. Our team is passionate about creating education that is inclusive, impactful, and helps both universities and learners achieve their goals.

The Impact You Will Make:

The Learning Designer supports the design and delivery of high-quality online learning experiences that align with partner program goals, learner needs, and established academic standards.

You will independently apply instructional design frameworks and established practices to translate academic content into clear, engaging, and accessible online courses. Your work will contribute to the consistent and reliable delivery of courses across diverse programs.

As a key member of the Academic Services team, you will lead, collaborate with, and project manage academics and cross-functional partners to ensure courses are developed on time, meet quality expectations, and reflect agreed design standards.

How You Will Bring Our Mission to Life

What You Will Do:

  • Design and develop online course materials using established instructional design frameworks, templates, and standards.
  • Translate academic content into structured learning activities, assessments, and resources aligned to defined learning outcomes.
  • Lead academics and subject-matter experts to inform course design and apply best practice learning principles.
  • Contribute to course development workflows by tracking tasks, maintaining documentation, and supporting on-time delivery.
  • Work with production and technology teams to ensure course materials are accurately built within the LMS.
  • Apply accessibility, quality, and design standards to ensure consistency across courses and programs.
  • Identify and raise risks or issues related to course design, timelines, or deliverables to senior team members.
  • Incorporate multimedia and interactive elements using approved tools and approaches to enhance learner engagement.
  • Use feedback and quality assurance inputs to support updates and improvements to course materials.
  • Contribute to pedagogy and process documentation by identifying opportunities for improvement and developing reusable resources that enhance team consistency.
  • Contribute to team processes and shared resources that improve consistency and efficiency.

  • Courses are delivered on time and meet defined quality and design standards.
  • Learning materials are clear, well-structured, and aligned to learning outcomes.
  • Academics experience effective and well-supported collaboration throughout the design process.
  • Design templates, frameworks, and accessibility requirements are applied consistently.
  • Course updates and improvements are implemented in a timely and accurate manner.

  • Quality of delivery: Courses meet established design, accessibility, and quality standards.
  • Timeliness: Course development milestones are achieved within agreed timelines.
  • Stakeholder experience: Positive feedback from academics and internal teams on collaboration and delivery.
  • Consistency: Adherence to templates, frameworks, and agreed design practices across courses.
  • Contribution to team effectiveness: Reliable delivery and participation in shared processes and continuous improvement activities.

What You’ll Bring to the Team

Experience That Matters Most:

  • Bachelor’s degree in Instructional Design, Education, or a related field.
  • Typically, 3–5 years’ experience in instructional design or a related field.
  • Experience supporting the development of online experiences including collaborating with subject matter experts.
  • Strong organizational skills with the ability to manage tasks and meet deadlines.

Experience That’s Great to Have:

  • Experience working within higher education or similar adult learning environments.
  • Familiarity with learning management systems such as Moodle or Canvas.
  • Exposure to authoring tools such as H5P, Articulate Storyline, or similar.
  • Awareness of accessibility standards and inclusive design practices.
