Job Description:

Deliver simple solutions to complex problems as a Data Solutions Architect at GDIT. You will help design, implement, and optimize data and analytics platforms that support mission-critical outcomes. In this role, you’ll partner closely across engineering, infrastructure, and security teams to deliver modern, secure, scalable data architectures that serve our customers’ evolving needs. Our work depends on a Data Solutions Architect remotely joining our team to ensure our platforms are deployed correctly in a user-friendly and secure implementation for our customers. HOW A DATA SOLUTIONS ARCHITECT WILL MAKE AN IMPACT:

  • Support capture and proposal efforts by developing technical data architecture solutions aligned to capture strategy and contract requirements.
  • Lead cross-functional collaboration across infrastructure, development, and security teams to design and implement enterprise data and analytics solutions.
  • Provide expert-level support to data engineering and infrastructure teams to troubleshoot and resolve production issues quickly and effectively.
  • Serve as a subject matter expert ensuring data and analytics platforms are deployed using best practices, secure configurations, and modern architecture patterns.
  • Continuously evaluate and enhance platform capabilities as new features and functions become available.
  • Leverage Databricks training and certifications to ensure the platform and its integrations operate reliably, securely, and efficiently.
  • Collaborate with stakeholders to translate complex technical concepts into clear, actionable recommendations.

WHAT YOU’LL NEED TO SUCCEED:

  • Bachelor’s degree and 15+ years of related experience
  • Hands-on, expert-level experience using and administering Databricks, including Python and R development and package management
  • Expert-level experience designing, administering, and optimizing Snowflake, including performance tuning, security models, cost governance, data sharing, and SnowSQL
  • Demonstrated ability to architect and support data pipelines and advanced analytics solutions leveraging both Databricks and Snowflake in cloud environments
  • Strong presentation and communication skills, with the ability to articulate complex technical concepts to both senior leadership and engineering teams
  • Proven experience identifying issues, evaluating solution options, driving process improvements, and influencing technical strategy
  • One or more active Databricks certification(s), including:
    • Databricks Solutions Architect Champion
    • Databricks Certified Data Engineer Professional
    • Databricks Certified Machine Learning Professional
    • Databricks Associate Developer for Apache Spark
    • Databricks Lakehouse Fundamentals
    • Databricks Generative AI Fundamentals
  • Ability to obtain and maintain a Secret clearance (U.S. citizenship required).

PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS

  • One or more active Snowflake certifications, including:
    • Snowflake SnowPro Core Certification
    • Snowflake SnowPro Advanced: Architect
    • Snowflake SnowPro Advanced: Data Engineer
    • Snowflake SnowPro Advanced: Administrator

The likely salary range for this position is $170,144 - $196,650. This is not, however, a guarantee of compensation or salary. Rather, salary will be set based on experience, geographic location and possibly contractual requirements and could fall outside of this range.
