POSITION OVERVIEW 

We are seeking an exceptional analytics leader to define and drive our analytics and insights vision across the organization. This role will be responsible for establishing the strategic direction for how we measure, understand, and communicate brand performance to our clients. The Director of Analytics & Insights will lead a team of specialized analysts and insights managers, setting the standard for data-driven decision-making and creating the infrastructure that enables our organization to showcase opportunities and deliver measurable results. 

This role requires deep expertise in ecommerce measurement with particular emphasis on digital advertising and upper funnel media performance. The ideal candidate will have extensive experience with Amazon Marketing Cloud (AMC), Amazon's Omnichannel Metrics, category management, and advanced analytics tools that drive brand growth insights. This leader will be responsible for not only defining what we measure but how we tell the story of brand building through data. 

RESPONSIBILITIES 

Analytics Vision & Strategy 

• Help define, implement and advance the organization's analytics and insights vision, translating strategic measurement frameworks into consistent, scalable practices that drive how brand performance is evaluated and communicated across all client touchpoints Establish the critical KPIs and measurement frameworks that define success for ecommerce brands, encompassing retail health, operational efficiency, advertising performance, and brand growth 
• Partner with our Tech Platform team on the evaluation and implementation of analytics tools and platforms that enable sophisticated measurement and compelling data visualization 
• Drive innovation in measurement approaches, staying ahead of industry trends and Amazon platform evolution to maintain competitive advantage 

Amazon Advertising & Measurement Expertise 

• Nourish a direct relationship with Amazon’s analytics and insights teams, staying informed of new and noteworthy measurement products and opportunities for Amazon/agency/advertiser collaboration. 
• Serve as the organization's expert on Amazon Marketing Cloud (AMC), developing advanced measurement frameworks that demonstrate advertising effectiveness across the customer journey 
• Design and implement measurement strategies for Amazon's Omnichannel Metrics, connecting digital advertising to retail outcomes and brand health indicators 
• Develop sophisticated approaches to upper funnel media measurement, demonstrating the connection between awareness/consideration efforts and downstream conversion 
• Create frameworks that help brands understand the full spectrum of data points that contribute to brand building, from awareness metrics to customer lifetime value 

Data Reporting  

• Oversee the development and maintenance of standardized dashboard and reporting frameworks that enable consistent, efficient performance evaluation across the organization 
• Eliminate inefficiency by creating centralized data products that prevent team members from repeatedly pulling and manipulating raw data in disparate ways 
• Partner with the engineering team to build scalable data pipelines and automated reporting solutions 
• Ensure data quality, accuracy, and accessibility across all measurement platforms and reporting tools 

Leadership & Team Development 

• Build and lead a high-performing analytics team with specialized expertise across category management, retail performance, brand growth, and advertising effectiveness 
• Provide mentorship and professional development opportunities that elevate analytical capabilities across the organization 
• Foster a culture of analytical rigor, intellectual curiosity, and data-driven decision-making 
• Establish clear career paths and growth opportunities for team members across different analytical specializations 

Client & Stakeholder Engagement 

• Enable client-facing teams (pods) to confidently communicate performance insights and opportunities through accessible, standardized reporting 
• Develop analysts to serve as the trusted advisor to clients on measurement strategy, helping brands understand how to evaluate their performance and identify growth opportunities 
• Translate complex analytical findings into compelling narratives that resonate with brand leadership and drive strategic decision-making 
• Partner with leaders across Business Development, Retail, Operations, and Advertising to ensure analytics capabilities align with organizational growth objectives 

KEY DELIVERABLES & OUTCOMES 

• Comprehensive measurement frameworks that span the full ecommerce ecosystem: retail health, advertising performance, brand growth, operational efficiency, and customer insights 
• Advanced Amazon Marketing Cloud implementations that demonstrate clear incremental impact on advertising investments and illuminate the customer journey 
• Standardized, automated dashboards and reporting tools that enable teams to quickly identify performance trends, opportunities, and areas requiring attention 
• A high-performing analytics team with clear specializations and the capability to support sophisticated client needs across all aspects of ecommerce performance 
• Thought leadership that positions the organization as innovators in ecommerce analytics and measurement

• 10+ years of progressive analytics and insights experience, with at least 7 years in leadership roles building and managing analytics teams 
• Deep expertise in digital advertising measurement, with specific knowledge of Amazon Advertising platforms, tools, and metrics 
• Demonstrated mastery of Amazon Marketing Cloud (AMC), including query development, audience insights, and attribution modeling 
• Extensive knowledge of Amazon's Omnichannel Metrics and how to leverage them for comprehensive brand performance measurement 
• Strong foundation in ecommerce analytics encompassing category management, retail operations, brand health, and customer behavior 
• Proven track record developing measurement frameworks that help brands understand performance holistically, from awareness to retention 
• Experience with upper funnel media measurement and connecting awareness/consideration efforts to business outcomes 
• Bachelor's degree in Analytics, Statistics, Business, Marketing, or related field; advanced degree (MBA, MS) strongly preferred 

Technical Skills 

• Expert-level proficiency in data visualization platforms (Tableau, Looker, or similar enterprise BI tools) 
• Advanced SQL skills for complex data manipulation and analysis 
• Proficiency with statistical analysis tools (R, Python, or similar) for advanced analytical work 
• Deep familiarity with Amazon's suite of analytics tools including Brand Analytics, Vendor/Seller Central reports, Advertising Console, and AMC 
• Experience with additional enhanced analytics platforms (e.g., Helium 10, Skai, DataHawk, or similar tools) 
• Understanding of data engineering principles and experience partnering with technical teams to build data pipelines 

Leadership & Business Acumen 

• Demonstrated ability to translate complex analytical concepts into clear, actionable insights for diverse audiences 
• Strong strategic thinking skills with the ability to see both the big picture and critical details 
• Exceptional communication and presentation skills, comfortable presenting to C-level executives and brand leadership 
• Proven track record building and scaling high-performing analytics teams 
• Experience working in client-facing or consulting environments, understanding how to balance client needs with internal capabilities 
• Deep understanding of brand marketing principles and how brands evaluate performance across awareness, consideration, and conversion 
• Collaborative mindset with experience partnering across Engineering, Data Science, Operations, and Business Development functions
