The Sr. Practice Growth Director coaches Thrivent’s most sophisticated practices, with a primary focus on National Practice advisor, to drive transformational growth. Focus will be placed on team development, leadership, client experience, and balanced revenue growth across product lines using Thrivent’s Purposeful Advice platform. Accountable for moving teams through various milestones along the advanced teaming continuum.

This leader will lead growth strategies for a group of 25-30 advanced team practices and dedicated corporate resources. The Sr. Practice Growth Director provides one-on-one coaching and team execution on advanced teaming business models, strategic planning, business analytics, balanced revenue growth, capacity, and succession planning. The successful Sr. Practice Growth Director will develop, foster and implement a culture of learning and development in one-on-one group settings. They will be true change agents in helping high performing, high potential practices embrace the need for change to take their businesses to the next level as well as drive adoption of key success factors.

         

          

DUTIES & RESPONSIBILITIES:  

  • Implement teaming, succession, and practice management solutions coaching for 25-30 NPA practices. 

  • Accountable for increasing practice growth through balanced total sales and retention of our top practices, advice adoption and client growth. 

  • Work in collaboration with the Advisor Growth, Practice Growth, Wholesaling, Advice COEs and dedicated corporate Premier services to broker resources in support of the practice growth needs to deliver on goals.   

  • Responsible for directing a matrixed team of resources, including the relationship managers, marketing specialists, member engagement resources, and more. 

  • Drive capacity and productivity growth by being a consultative expert on launching new advisors and team members into teams.    

  • Provide expertise on practice valuation and succession planning in conjunction with the Practice Growth COE. 

  • Recruits, develops, and sustains a high-performing team while promoting a culture of shared accountability, operational excellence, and partnership across the organization.  

  • Facilitate small and large group discussions, training sessions, and workshops 

  • Facilitate connections with field leadership and internal partners to connect JFW and practice sharing opportunities.

QUALIFICATIONS & SKILLS:   

 Required: 

  • College Degree in business, management, or related business field or equivalent  

  • Demonstrated experience (15+ years) leading in the financial services industry or related industry at a senior operating level. 

  • Experienced, consultative expert; deep foundational practice management background, advanced teaming structure and coaching experience.  

  • Results oriented, coaches others to success and drives towards goals. 

  • Seen as a credible expert in what it takes to build and grow successful team practices, business planning, teaming strategies, revenue and client growth, leverage and specialization.  

  • Experience inleading, coaching and partnering with others, whether in large groups, small groups or one-on-one settings.  Strong “Vet FA/Team as customer” orientation.  

  • Strategic enterprise-level leadership skills along with strong influence and collaboration; able to work across both corporate environment and field to influence and impact results.   

  • Experience with effectively leading through change; Passionate about leading on a large scale, collaborating through others, and leveraging Centers of Excellence and systems to engage people and drive results. 

  • Experience with advanced teaming practices and practice management, which includes knowledge of establishing legal entities.  

  • Deeply knowledgeable and strong influencer with experienced FAs and practices; able to lead through teaming, practice management, and succession planning. For advanced teams, promote connections back with their geographic groups.  

  • Passionate about providing advice to clients and possesses in-depth knowledge of advice, insurance products, asset/wealth management, fee-based planning, mutual funds and securities; ideally will possess advanced designation, such as the CFP, CLF, ChFC or CLU. 

  • Talent magnet who sizes up every opportunity to draw talent to key markets and communities. Demonstrated track record of attracting, selecting and developing talent for advisor practices. Extensive record of success in growing Financial Professionals, field leaders, and teams. Excellent presentation and facilitation skills 

  • Ability to travel as needed to cover geographic area, Thrivent and industry functions.  

  • FINRA Series 7, 63 & 65 or 66 required or obtained within 90 days of hire: work closely with centralized supervision. 

  • State insurance licensed and appointed for life, health, accident and variable products in all states in which FAs transact business or attained within 90 days of hire. 

  • Insurable under both the Society’s applicable fidelity bond and errors and omissions coverage. 

  • Must have satisfactory Form U-4 disclosures  

Pay Transparency

Thrivent’s long-term growth depends on attracting, rewarding, and retaining people who are committed to helping others thrive with purpose. We accomplish this by offering a wide variety of market competitive compensation programs to attract, reward, and retain top talent. Compensation for this role is a combination of base, bonus, and incentives. The applicable total compensation range for this full-time role is $176,000 - 231,000 per year, which is dependent upon performance and factors in various geographic regions.  The base pay actually offered will be determined by a variety of factors including, but not limited to, location, relevant experience, skills, and knowledge, business needs, market demand, and other factors Thrivent deems important.
