This position provides standard-level support for one or more information technology applications across the organization. The role is responsible for assisting with the planning, design, implementation, maintenance, and ongoing optimization of assigned systems to ensure reliable performance and alignment with operational needs.

The position supports a variety of clinical, administrative, and enterprise applications, which may include electronic health records (EHR), registration and scheduling, billing and collections, laboratory and pathology, radiology and PACS, cardiovascular systems, pharmacy, home care and long-term care platforms, population health tools, consumer and patient-facing technologies, enterprise resource planning (ERP), workforce scheduling, time and attendance, and customer relationship management (CRM) systems. The role also provides day-to-day application support, troubleshooting, and collaboration with stakeholders to enhance system functionality and user experience.

Job Details

  • 8a-5p Mon. thru Fri. - On-call rotation schedule.

  • Fully remote with possible occasional travel to select Intermountain locations. At this time, sourcing new candidates and approving relocation requests for current caregivers are paused for the following states: California, Connecticut, Hawaii, Illinois, New York, Pennsylvania, Rhode Island, Vermont, and Washington.

Essential Functions

  • Provides support to stakeholders by analyzing and diagnosing system issues, determining root cause, and implementing appropriate resolutions.

  • Gathers, validates, and translates business and technical requirements into functional and technical design specifications, providing product management support as needed.

  • Configures, tests, installs, implements, monitors, and maintains common to complex systems, including applications, workflows, processes, and related hardware.

  • Documents and recommends workflow improvements and technical or functional designs to support business needs.

  • Partners with external vendors to support third-party applications, including integration, implementation, troubleshooting, and ongoing support.

  • Resolves incidents, problems, and service requests in accordance with defined service levels and departmental standards.

  • Serves as Project Manager for small to mid-sized projects involving multiple teams, completing assigned PM responsibilities.

  • Collaborates effectively with peers, internal stakeholders, and external vendors.

  • Adheres to documentation, change management, and governance standards.

  • Develops and contributes to training materials and knowledge-based documentation for peers, end users, and other team members.

  • Configures and integrates electronic and mechanical hardware with software solutions to meet functional and technical specifications.

  • Develops and understands business reporting needs to support end users and operational decision-making.

  • Participates in on-call rotations and command center responsibilities, as required.

  • Assists in developing and maintaining testing plans and test scripts to validate system functionality, outputs, and integrity.

  • Attends and actively participates in team, project, and departmental meetings to support collaboration and information sharing.

  • Works with project requestors to define and deliver minimum viable products (MVPs) for demands submitted through ServiceHub.

  • Requests project and enhancement resources using the ServiceHub Resource Plan process.

Skills

  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite programs, Excel (pivot tables), Visio, Project, PowerPoint, Word

  • Possesses in-depth business and application knowledge and experience

  • Knowledge of system analysis and operating systems

  • Skilled in assessing needs and determining through documentation what the best approach might be

  • Skilled at problem definition and data collection by establishing facts, drawing valid conclusions

  • Ability to read, analyze, and interpret general industry periodicals, professional journals, technical procedures, or governmental regulations

  • Ability to write correspondence, and process documents

Qualifications

Bachelor's degree is preferred in information technology, healthcare, business, or related field. Additional relevant experience may substitute for lack of education upon Supervisory and HR approval OR

Two (2) years of work experience, or actively working towards a bachelor's degree with 4 years' experience working within a related area.

Willing to obtain Epic build certification within the first six months of hire.

Preferred Qualifications

  • Current Epic certification(s) particularly Epic Dorothy and Comfort

  • Change Management understanding/experience. 

  • Operate computers and other IT equipment requiring the ability to move finger and hands

  • See and read computer monitors and documents

  • Remain sitting or standing for long periods of time to preform work

The hourly range for this position is listed below. Actual hourly rate dependent upon experience. 

$32.10 - $50.57
