Revenue Analyst (Self-Funded Revenue Analyst)

Job description

The Revenue Analyst supports Allied’s revenue growth, pricing strategy, and client retention efforts through detailed analysis of medical claims and stop loss data. This role partners closely with Sales, Underwriting, and Finance to deliver data‑driven insights that inform new business and renewal pricing decisions. This position is ideal for an analytical professional with experience in healthcare, insurance, or financial analysis who is seeking hands‑on exposure to stop loss pricing and underwriting within a collaborative environment.

KEY RESPONSIBILITIES

  • Analyze historical and prospective medical and pharmacy claims data to evaluate risk, cost drivers, and pricing adequacy for new and renewal client opportunities.
  • Prepare analytical support for proposals and renewals, including claim summaries, trend analysis, and large claim evaluations.
  • Partner with Sales and Client Executives to provide data‑backed insights that support client acquisition and retention strategies.
  • Support stoploss placement activities, including coverage analysis, carrier comparisons, and financial impact assessments, under the guidance of senior team members.
  • Participate in discussions with stop loss carriers and vendor partners by contributing analytical insights to pricing and renewal strategies.
  • Perform network and utilization analyses to support pricing assumptions and identify opportunities for plan optimization.
  • Build working knowledge of group medical stop loss underwriting principles, with increasing ownership of analysis and client deliverables over time.
  • Maintain a high level of accuracy, organization, and self‑audit across all analyses and reporting.

EDUCATION

  • Bachelor’s degree , or a related field, or equivalent relevant work experience.

EXPERIENCE & SKILLS

  • Previously experience working with a Third-Party Administrator (TPA) strongly preferred 
  • 1–3 years of experience in an analytical role, preferably within healthcare, insurance, or financial services.
  • Experience working with medical claims data, insurance pricing, or risk analysis strongly preferred.
  • Exposure to Medical Stop Loss underwriting or self‑funded health plan analysis is a plus.
  • Strong Microsoft Excel skills (pivot tables, lookups, data analysis); Microsoft Access experience is a plus.
  • Ability to analyze large data sets and communicate findings clearly to both technical and non‑technical stakeholders.
  • Strong attention to detail with the ability to manage multiple priorities in a deadline‑driven environment.
