Senior / Corporate Accountant

McKeil Marine is looking for a motivated and detail-oriented Senior/Corporate Accountant to join our finance team on a full-time permanent basis. The successful candidate will assist in financial reporting, analysis, and general accounting tasks, offering an exciting opportunity for growth and professional development within our dynamic and fast-paced marine transportation company.

Key Duties & Responsibilities:

  • Assist with managing the general accounting functions
  • Assist with month-end and year-end closing processes, including journal entries, accruals, and financial reporting.
  • Prepare and analyze financial statements and reporting, including income statements, balance sheets, and cash flow statements in compliance with GAAP (ASPE) and company policies.
  • Assist in forecasting and variance analysis to support decision-making and strategic planning.
  • Assist with internal and external audits, providing documentation and support as required.
  • Assist with daily treasury and cash flow forecasting.
  • Assist with ad hoc financial analysis and reporting as assigned by management.
  • Manage fixed assets and depreciation schedules.
  • Ensure accurate and timely monthly, quarterly, and year-end closing processes.
  • Develop and implement accounting policies and procedures.
  • Assist with ad hoc financial analysis and reporting as assigned by management
  • Ensure adherence to month-end and year-end timelines and contribute to improving the efficiency and accuracy of close processes

Minimum Qualification, Skills and Key Competencies Required: 

  • Bachelor’s degree in accounting, Finance, or a related field.
  • 3-5 years of accounting experience.
  • Extensive experience with Microsoft Business Central or other ERP systems
  • Exceptional analytical skills, problem-solving and attention to detail.
  • Ability to work independently
  • A practical hands-on approach to a team environment
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
  • Strong leadership and management skills.
  • CPA certification is a plus.
