About the role

As a Ratings Metadata Specialist on the Content Ratings Team, you’ll be responsible for maintaining the integrity of in-language metadata critical to the launch of content on our platform. Additionally, you will work closely with other Content Analysts to screen and self-rate simulcast titles for our platform. You will analyze our programming, score it using defined criteria, and apply a KMRB rating. You’ll also support the submission of ratings metadata to the KMRB in advance of the program’s premiere. Other key responsibilities include maintenance of internal databases and researching existing metadata for potential catalog acquisitions. Additionally, you will support other local operational workstreams and will be a vital communications bridge between localization and marketing.

About You

  • 2+ years of experience in broadcast/streaming content rating required
  • Experience with KMRB self-rating policies and procedures, including completion of KMRB training
  • Experience with other global ratings systems is a plus
  • Experience managing a multitude of metadata deliverables associated with our anime content
  • Possess strong critical thinking and analytical skills
  • Proven ability to manage a high volume of projects with competing deadlines
  • Excellent written communication skills, especially in conveying visual information clearly and concisely
  • Business-level fluency in English and Korean
  • Must be comfortable and confident in discussing sensitive and potentially offensive subject matter with senior management
  • Ability to collaborate cross-functionally across departments to forward company initiatives
  • Familiarity with anime and the anime community is highly preferred
  • Proficient with databases (Airtable experience strongly preferred) and with structuring large amounts of data
  • Lead localization timelines in addition to quality control and evaluation of Korean translations, either from a licensor or a trusted vendor.
  • Liaise with Crunchyroll's operations subtitling & marketing teams to ensure info & materials are delivered in a timely manner.

This role requires screening content that may be sensitive or offensive to certain audiences.

About the Team

The Content Ratings team is responsible for ensuring that all content on the Crunchyroll platform adheres to our internal standards and complies with any legal/regulatory requirements in the countries in which we operate. Our goal is to provide our audiences with content ratings and advisories to help them make informed viewing choices. We embody Crunchyroll’s collaborative spirit and work closely with internal and external teams to ensure our decisions are consistent, accurate, timely, and clearly communicated to viewers.
