This position is for a project management professional with a strong background in manufacturing and operational environments, who will be responsible for supporting complex work transfer initiatives. The role emphasizes disciplined project planning, proactive risk identification and mitigation, and the ability to effectively facilitate and informally lead cross-functional teams through key planning, execution, and work transfer events. 

The successful candidate will develop and manage integrated project plans, schedules, and budgets while driving alignment across engineering, production, quality, supply chain, and leadership teams. This role requires comfort leading without direct authority, navigating ambiguity, and translating technical and operational inputs into clear, actionable plans. The project manager will anticipate challenges, manage dependencies and critical paths, and ensure risks are actively tracked and mitigated throughout execution. 

Proficiency in Earned Value Management (EVM) is necessary to monitor project performance and proactively manage cost and schedule risk. The ideal candidate is a collaborative, solutions-oriented leader with strong operational awareness, sound judgment, and a hands-on approach to driving outcomes in fast-paced manufacturing environments. 


What Will You Do:

  • Develops project plans, schedules, and budgets, making necessary adjustments to ensure adherence to project objectives. 

  • Documents and communicates delays, changes in scope, and any other incidents that impact the scope of work or schedule. 

  • Develops project budget and pursues all cost saving opportunities to maximize project profitability. 

  • Performs critical path analysis and implements work-around plans to ensure successful project completion. 

  • Implements Earned Value Management (EVM) practices to measure project performance and analyze variances against cost and schedule baselines, including Cost Performance Index (CPI) and Schedule Performance Index (SPI). 

  • Leads meetings and presents consolidated plans, status reports, and progress reports relating to business aspects of the project(s) to key stakeholders including senior leadership. 

  • Identifies and reacts to project problems and recommends solutions, such as reallocating resources or changing contractual specifications. 

  • Oversees and manages the lifecycle and operational aspects of projects, and liaises between project management and planning, project team, quality, and line management. 

  • Assesses project issues and develops resolutions to meet productivity, quality, and customer satisfaction goals and objectives. 

  • Regularly interacts and interfaces with customers. 

Qualifications You Must Have:

  • Typically requires a degree in Science, Technology, Engineering or Mathematics (STEM) and minimum 8 years prior relevant experience or an Advanced Degree in a related field and minimum 5 years of experience

  • Experience or prior ownership of leading programs/projects or people.

Qualifications We Prefer: 

  • Strong knowledge and practical application of Earned Value Management (EVM). 

  • PMP certification is a plus. 

  • Strong executive presence with the ability to communicate effectively with senior leadership and project stakeholders. 

  • Background in manufacturing and/or operations, with an understanding of production processes and operational workflows. 

  • Highly collaborative individual with the ability to navigate crucial conversations, resolve conflicts, and foster a solution-driven work environment. 

  • MS office proficiency utilizing MS Project, Power Point, and Excel. 

  • Working knowledge of SAP.

The salary range for this role is 107,500 USD - 204,500 USD. The salary range provided is a good faith estimate representative of all experience levels. RTX considers several factors when extending an offer, including but not limited to, the role, function and associated responsibilities, a candidate’s work experience, location, education/training, and key skills.

Payments under these annual programs are not guaranteed and are dependent upon a variety of factors including, but not limited to, individual performance, business unit performance, and/or the company’s performance.

This role is a U.S.-based role. If the successful candidate resides in a U.S. territory, the appropriate pay structure and benefits will apply.
