As a Senior Payroll Systems Officer, you will take ownership of the ongoing management, development and maintenance of payroll systems, ensuring accuracy, efficiency and a seamless user experience across all processes, reporting and analytics.
 

You will play a key role in supporting the implementation of new payroll technologies, systems and process improvements, helping to drive continuous improvement across the function. In addition, you will provide support with payroll processing activities, ensuring compliance and timely delivery.

This will be a full time, 12 month secondment position based in our Sydney office, with work-from-home flexibility (up to 3 days per week).
 

YOUR RESPONSIBILITIES

  •  Support the development, optimisation and ongoing performance of payroll systems, ensuring a scalable and efficient operating model.
  • Manage payroll system integrations, including daily processing, error resolution and root cause analysis to improve accuracy and efficiency.
  • Manage configure and maintain payroll systems, including employee data, coding and tax settings, and support system testing and issue resolution with key stakeholders.
  • Identify and implement system and process improvements, including cost-benefit analysis and user training.
  • Drive continuous improvement by streamlining processes, leveraging integrations and staying across industry trends and new technologies.
  • Partner with Finance and People teams to prioritise initiatives, maintain system governance and support reporting activities.
  • Assist with payroll processing activities, including data entry, validation and ensuring timely, accurate pay outcomes.
     

ABOUT YOU

  • 5+ years experience as a Payroll Systems SME, with strong ownership of system configuration, integrations and optimisation in a complex environment.
  • Mandatory experience with Workday, with the ability to manage, troubleshoot and enhance system functionality. Aurion experience would be highly regarded.
  • Deep understanding of payroll legislation, including awards, payroll tax, superannuation, PAYG and workers compensation, with proven application in a systems context.
  • Advanced Excel skills, with the ability to support detailed reporting, data analysis and reconciliations.
  • Strong stakeholder engagement skills, with the ability to partner with Finance, HR and People teams and deliver clear, practical guidance.
