Planned Parenthood of Greater Ohio is seeking a mission-minded Associates to join us as full time (37.5 per week) Clinician to serve our patients across Ohio as a Virtual Telehealth Provider.
SUMMARY
Act as part of the medical services team providing reproductive health care as outlined in PPGOH Medical Standards & Guidelines. Practices within the state of Ohio BON scope of practice for APNs. Provides direct patient care in the health center or via telehealth services, including history review, health education, physical exam, counseling, diagnosis, and treatment according to protocols for 3-5 patient encounters per hour. Participates in accomplishing customer-focused goals. Provides referrals and participates in follow-up. Consults with Regional Clinical Director and/or Medical Director to ensure compliance with guidelines. Participates in Risk and Quality Management program, clinician meetings and other agency and health center meetings and trainings as required.
ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES include the following. Other duties may be assigned.
Responsible for implementing overall quality assurance activities, assessing, planning and administering health care which is individualized to the client, and consistent with the policies and protocols of Planned Parenthood of Greater Ohio.
Responsible for assessment plan, examination and treatment for all services provided at the center, for which the clinician is trained and privileged.
Reviews & interprets the medical and social history.
Performs appropriate medical screening procedures/exams.
Interprets laboratory data, orders additional laboratory investigations when indicated and ensures appropriate follow-up.
Provides contraceptive methods: oral and topical contraceptives; provides/oversees contraceptive injections.
Begins training and/or completes privileging for device insertion and removal (implants, IUCs) and EMB.
Provides emergency contraception.
Performs medical assessment and management of basic STI and genito-urinary conditions.
Provides perimenopausal and menopausal services.
Counsels pregnant women on all pregnancy outcome options.
Provides pre and post abortion care.
Acts as a medical consultant to clinic staff.
Manages emergency situations in the center.
Is compliant with OSHA, CLIA and State Board of Pharmacy procedures, policies and regulations.
Participates in staff meetings related to center management and provides staff training in current medical procedures relevant to reproductive health.
Participates in the revenue cycle through knowledge of charge capture and pricing, health information management, clinical documentation, coding, and 3rdparty reimbursement.
Ability to meet productivity requirements of hourly patient visit goal as determined by PPGOH and correctly code visits as required by Center for Medicare/Medicaid Services (CMS) coding guidelines.
In collaboration with the Practice Manager, supervises clinical services within the health center.

QUALIFICATIONS

Able to work cooperatively as a member of a health care delivery team
EDUCATION and/or EXPERIENCE
Requires education commensurate with Ohio licensure requirements for practice as an APRN
Ability to see 3-5 patients per hour, either in center or via telehealth, within 6 months of hire and correctly code visits as required by CMS coding guidelines.
CERTIFICATES, LICENSES, REGISTRATIONS
Must have an active Ohio APRN license
Cardiopulmonary Resuscitation (CPR) and Basic Life Support (BLS) certification that is compliant with American Red Cross or American Heart Association is required
Maintenance of board certification and state licensure at all times is required
Must obtain and maintain a Drug Enforcement Agency (DEA) license
