Job description

At Makeready we are searching for curious self-starters with a genuine interest in people. These hard-working individuals have always had a natural bend toward hospitality, no matter where they work, because they’ve always seen themselves as part of something bigger.

The Vice President of Operational and Financial Analysis is a key strategic leader responsible for driving clarity, consistency, and performance across Makeready’s financial and operational systems. This role supports both the home office and property teams by ensuring our systems, reporting, and processes empower teams to make smart, timely, and informed business decisions.

This leader partners closely with operations, finance, and property leadership to translate data into action — helping our hotels and restaurants operate efficiently, scale effectively, and deliver exceptional guest and team member experiences. Through strong collaboration and business intelligence tools, this role ensures leadership has the insights needed to forecast, plan, and drive results across the portfolio.

Requested Tasks

  • Provide strategic oversight of core financial and operational systems, including ERP, business intelligence, and human capital platforms.
  • Partner with hotel and restaurant teams to support key operational systems including labor management, procurement, PMS, and POS platforms.
  • Lead system governance, including user administration, system structure, and configuration standards.
  • Champion system education and training across home office and property teams to ensure adoption and consistency.
  • Lead system implementations and upgrades across the portfolio, ensuring minimal disruption and strong adoption.
  • Partner with operations and finance leadership to evaluate property performance, focusing on procurement compliance, labor productivity, and key financial metrics.
  • Develop and evolve enterprise dashboards that clearly measure performance against budget, forecast, and strategic goals.
  • Collaborate with finance leadership and property teams on annual budgeting and monthly forecasting cycles.
  • Support new property onboarding and transitions, including system setup, testing, and training.
  • Build strong cross-functional relationships that encourage collaboration, transparency, and shared accountability.
  • Continuously identify opportunities to improve operational efficiency and financial performance across hotels and restaurants.
  • Evaluate and recommend new technologies and system enhancements that support growth and scalability.
  • Contribute financial and operational insights in leadership meetings and property reviews, helping shape strategic direction.
  • Maintain compliance with company financial policies and procedures.
  • Protect the confidentiality and integrity of financial information.

Requested Capabilities

  • Proven leadership experience in operational and financial analysis within a multi-unit environment.
  • Experience working directly with hotel finance and operational teams; strong understanding of hotel and restaurant operations preferred.
  • Experience with budgeting and forecasting tools, including Profitsword.
  • Strong analytical mindset with the ability to translate data into actionable insights.
  • Demonstrated ability to lead teams and collaborate cross-functionally.
  • Ability to travel independently as needed.
  • Commitment to company travel policies and procedures.
  • Strong proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite, including Excel, PowerPoint, Word, Outlook, and Teams.
  • Commitment to company and property policies and procedures.
  • Ability to communicate complex financial concepts clearly to both financial and non-financial stakeholders.
  • Strong organizational and project management skills with the ability to prioritize competing deadlines.
  • Hospitality industry experience strongly preferred.
  • Demonstrated commitment to confidentiality, integrity, and professional ethics in handling financial data.
