We are looking for a senior tax professional to join our finance team on a fractional basis. Reporting to the Global Controller, this person owns the intersection of tax strategy, compliance oversight, and external advisor coordination. This is not a preparer role, we engage a large international firm for that. This is an operator role: someone who keeps the calendar clean, the jurisdictions covered, the distributions structured correctly, and the CFO informed.
You will be the internal expert on a complex multi-entity, multi-jurisdiction structure with an international CFC component. You will own the relationship with the external firm, manage our compliance calendar across multiple states and countries.

• 10 hours/week base retainer with defined surge capacity during peak filing periods (Q1, year-end)
Responsibilities:Domestic Tax Operations
• Own the compliance calendar across all entities and jurisdictions an ensure no balls are dropped
• Manage estimated tax payments and extension filings across multiple state and federal jurisdictions
• Serve as primary liaison to the external accounting firm, owning the day-to-day relationship and review process
• Review partnership K-1 packages and entity-level returns before company sign-off
International / CFC Compliance
• Serve as the internal point of coordination for all European CFC compliance.
• Ensure U.S. federal reporting obligations related to our international subsidiaries are scoped, assigned, and delivered on time
• Provide CFO-level visibility into international tax exposure, elections, and planning considerations, translating complexity into clear decisions
• Manage the intercompany relationship from a tax lens, flagging transfer pricing or structural issues that require advisor attention.
• Coordinate with local tax teams on VAT and other indirect tax filings, flagging any cross-border implications that warrant U.S.-side attention.
Strategic Tax Advisory
• Support outside counsel and financial advisors on M&A tax structuring, providing internal context and coordinating diligence inputs as deals arise
• Advise on entity structure optimization as Sprout scales
• Monitor legislative changes affecting SALT, pass-through, and international tax
• Partner with CFO on annual tax planning and distribution strategy
Qualifications:• 8+ years of tax experience, ideally with time at a Big 4 or large, international firm, plus in-house experience at a PE-backed company
• Multi-entity pass-through fluency: LLCs, partnerships, K-1s, state composite returns
• Multi-state nexus and SALT experience across many jurisdictions
• Strong project management instincts. You run a tight compliance calendar and don't miss deadlines.
• Operates independently - owns the calendar, drives the workstreams, and surfaces issues without being asked
• CPA required.
