SQL Server Database Developer

Position Type: Contract - Long Term
Location: US Remote with team bonding travel
Client: Large Healthcare Provider

Essential Duties and Responsibilities:

• Develop and maintain SSRS reports using SSRS and SQL Server Database Objects

• Develop and maintain SSIS Packages using SSIS and SQL Server Database Objects

• Develop and maintain Data Warehouse using SQL Server Technology, ie t-sql, stored procedures, CTEs, etc

• Investigate and support new technology initiatives to improve or enhance current database capabilities.

• Improve SSRS reports and database processes performance

• Maintain all programming source code using GITHUB

• Utilize JIRA or ADO for managing projects, tasks, and issues assigned to Data Team

• Demonstrate effective communication skills with a wide range of clients, both internal and external, from technical to non-technical and from management to clerical

• Experience in executing unit and QA testing, including writing test scripts and cases

• Learn new applicable programming techniques as needed.

• Work with other database personnel, front end programmers and customer support as needed.

• Be available, as needed, should critical software issues arise.

• Write documentation and sop's for future use.

Qualifications/Requirements:

• B. S. in Information Technology, Computer Science or equivalent skills work experience

• 5+ years of hands-on SQL Server Relational modeling, database development and T-SQL scripting experience

• 5+ years working in SQL Server Database DDL, DML and concepts (table, triggers, views, procedures, functions, packages, ...), T-SQL languages Management Studio, Data extraction using SSIS, and Reports development using SSRS.

• 5+ years Development experience using SSRS Reporting Services

• 5+ years Development experience using SSIS Integration Services

• Experience with database version control through GITHUB

• Demonstrated technical excellence working to support scientific user base to engage in problem solving and finding proactive solutions

• Proven track record of leading database transformation and development project through to successful implementation

• Significant SQL Server database test development and performance tuning experience

• Proficiency in technical writing, documenting solutions, and communicating with clients and users.
