About the Role:


Advantage Capital Tax Credit Consulting is seeking a highly motivated individual to join our team in one of our nationwide offices. The Impact Research Analyst serves in a cross-functional role supporting both the Project Finance and Application teams of Advantage Capital’s Tax Credit Consulting team. 


Within Project Finance, the Impact Research Analyst serves as the primary resource for project impact analysis, leading the full slip sheet development process and conducting detailed research on job quality, community need, and industry context. The role identifies potential risks and synthesizes due diligence into clear, well-supported narratives aligned with NMTC requirements. The Impact Research Analyst also prepares investor and CDE intake forms, working directly with consultants and clients to gather information, resolve questions, and keep projects moving forward.


Within the Application team, the Impact Research Analyst collaborates with colleagues to conduct targeted research and draft and edit sections of the NMTC application for multiple CDEs. The role coordinates across workstreams to analyze data, calculate and validate impact metrics, maintain internal databases, and uphold a high standard of analytical rigor and writing quality. 


Job Responsibilities:


Project Finance


· Conduct impact research and analysis—including job quality evaluation, wage benchmarking, demographic analysis, and industry-specific community impact dynamics—to produce slip sheets used to market projects to investors and stakeholders.

· Engage directly with clients throughout the slip sheet process to request additional information, clarify impact details, and manage revisions through final delivery.

· Synthesize due diligence materials to complete investor intake forms, collaborating directly with project teams to gather additional information, incorporate feedback, and deliver finalized materials for review.

· Maintain and regularly update the Opportunity Summary, ensuring project details remain current.


Application & Pipeline Support

  • Conduct research to produce detailed pipeline and track record snapshots, assessing community need, industry context, impact metrics, and alignment with deployment strategies.
  • Proactively identify pipeline gaps or weaknesses and collaborate with consultants to address issues early.
  • Draft and edit sections of the NMTC allocation application, adapting writing to different clients, industries, and impact      focus areas and ensuring clarity, consistency, and responsiveness to scoring requirements.
  • Support internal evaluation, numbers of checks, quality control, AMIS uploads, and data validation to ensure accuracy and      completeness.
  • Manage shifting timelines and competing priorities in a fast-paced, collaborative environment.

Qualifications:

  • Bachelor’s degree, preferably in library science, social work, sociology, or community and economic development fields, or      1-3 years of comparable work experience
  • Strong written and verbal communication skills
  • Proactive in identifying next steps, intellectually curious, ability to focus on both details and the big picture.
  • Interest in public policy and public-private investments
  • Strong computer skills, including formula proficiency in Excel, internet research, task organization management.
  • Strong time management skills, ability to multi-task, and flexibility
